Apap Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Hey guys, so I just installed Mango Follower SSE and tried to update her body to 3BA. It didn't work as intended and the end result was her looking like an airbrushed character. Physics were kinda weird too. What I tried was to copy the feet/hands/body files from the 'meshes' and 'textures' in my CBBE 3BA folder, and paste them into the respective folders of the Mango mod. All the info I found on the topic claimed that should do it but clearly something is missing. Does anyone know if there is a tutorial somewhere how to change follower bodies properly or could give me some tips ? Thanks in advance!
Dorabella Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 The method should indeed work correctly. did you also change the skeleton_female?

Dorabella Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Skyrim data\meshes\actors\character\character assets female PS.: If you make use of havok object, the follower will need to put it in their inventory. to do this, a mod as a Manipulator is also fine , or any other that allows you to manipulate an inventory
anjenthedog Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 You may also need to drop a copy of the newer 3ba-happy skeleton into her meshes folder if she had one already, since she'd (her esm) likely be pointing to it. If she points to an outdated CBBE era "custom" skeleton located in her custom follower folder, you're likely going to see some weirdness (ime) I've converted several cbbe and several UNP followers to their newer counterparts (3ba and BHUNP) and run into "custom" skeletons before (not really custom, just pulled from the contemporary standard at the time the follower was assembled, presumably to make sure it'd always work right...). Alternatively I think you can use SSEEdit to modify the file pointer to the skeleton, (in those cases where it comes with a "custom skeleton"), but I found it more expeditious to simply drop a copy of the "new" skeleton into their respective folders and leave the "coded directives" alone. again, IFF their mesh folder already contains a skeleton file (many, and afaik most newer follower mods point to the system skeleton, but some older ones don't) First time I noticed something odd was a Yuih follower I installed that walked like a stick, had no bounce, and wouldn't adjust to FNIS Sexy moves directives. Turned-out it was because she was still using her old "custom" (circa 2017-2018) skeleton.
Apap Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 Ok so I replaced the skeleton file in the mod and rewritten the mesh/texture files again, and now it seems to be finally working fine. Thanks for the info, guys!
