I honestly don't think its a good idea to start a new thread over a thread that got locked down with good reason AND post a link to the old thread.

It's probably a ticking timebomb, until someone drops the "Voldermort" again to get an admin to step in and lock this down as well.

And they're absolutely right to do so.

I will be using the words "Fluffy Bunnies" as a stand in for text that would get the thread locked down except "Cuddly Kittens" will be  as the modder's name, I am not aware of any mods using that text in any context, these are not recommendations, dear god please don't ban me.

 

Back in February PlaySimsYT discovered Fluffy Bunnies and decided to make life hard for Cuddly Kittens there since they don't agree with Fluffy Bunnies mods. They arranged a moderately large shitstorm of forum posts, change.org petitions, and twitter harassment, it wound up with a mass report of Cuddly Kittens patreon and reaching out to Maxis/EA to attempt to have their account banned so that they could hurt Cuddly Kittens. Cuddly Kittens has mostly disappeared for the last 6 months so the War Reeeeeee sort of worked I guess. This marks the second War Reeeeeee against Cuddly Kittens with the first resulting in them being abjured from Sleeping Puppies.

Given the nature of Fluffy Bunnies content it is highly unlikely that Cuddly Kittens was their actual user name on Origin so it is likely they have simply abandoned Cuddly Kittens as their username and are still part of the community. Regardless of the fate of Cuddly Kittens the Fluffy Bunnies forum and the content there lives on unbothered for the most part.

 

About Maxis/EA's response... well they had to say that didn't they? Could you even imagine what would happen if they said "We don't give a single flying fuck if you put Fluffy Bunnies in our game. We encourage and defend all forms of expression regardless of societal convention.". News outlets would be digging up pictures of Sims in Kitty Klaw Klub robes while they I Can't Even Think Of A Euphemism on someone's lawn. It would be utter pandemonium and the death of the franchise.

 

For what it's worth the "ELECTRONIC ARTS USER AGREEMENT" only specifically covers "User Generated Content" you upload to EA services and not to things hosted elsewhere though some people from the War Reeeeeee may claim otherwise. Either way all sexual content is forbidden so Fluffy Bunnies or no we are all in the same boat.

Yes, this really speaks to the censorious and, frankly, mentally challenged (and I mean that literally, to a larger degree unfortunately) times we currently live in.. though to be fair societies have always been that way to varying degrees, in fact as bad as things are these days in that regard they were a LOT worse in the past. But yeah.. one or more chicks don't like a male coworker/streamer? It's all good just bait him into awkward situations and then accuse him of bull shit later on en masse (this tactic should sound familiar in other contexts as well), or dig up some stupid shit the person or group said or did YEARS ago and then use that to tarnish their reputation, or apply the same tactics with a company you don't like or anything else.. Outrage culture is a real and very destructive thing these days, it's not really that surprising that something would be done to cover their butt, however it sets a bad precedent.
