LeoLieoLieo
Hi guys, I encouter some problems when trying to add collision to mesh I just create a model using blender, exported to obj, imported to 3dsmax 2018 with nif plugin installed. However, I can't find niftools in create menu. Also, how do you usually add collisions to the mesh? I would like to know. Thank you so much Leo Link to comment

Stevierage
What type of collision you are attempting to add to the mesh, static, move-able?. I used this very early video to add a 'static collisions' to add (FF7R) rooms to Skyrim similar to the Vignette mod I use 2012 so not sure if it is the same for 2018, but you need to look under 'Helpers' then NifTools on the drop down window. You may need ChunkMerge too, if you haven't got it already. Link to comment
RomeoZero
Probably the best way is to add it directly in Nifscope (advanced user) or copy ~ paste bhkCollision data from a reference shape nif file and make your adjustments in bhkRigidBody (shape\layer\translation\rotation) + bhk***Shape (material\radius\dimensions) Keep in mind, your main node should be named properly for collision data to work as BSFadeNode Edited August 21, 2021 by RomeoZero Link to comment

Yes I have looked under Create -> Helper but there're no Niftools tab, other users have also reported the same bug. However, I haven't had Chunkmerge. I have watched video of Chunkmerge but can't find the download link. Thank you so much for the link. Link to comment

Perhaps I was too impatient. And I should try again now that you gave me a tip. Thank you Link to comment

The latest version deleted bhkRigidBody so adding it from modlist isn't possible anymore. Also, I can't find Niftools in directory Create -> Helper Do you have any ideas why? Because Idk how to parse the installer. Link to comment

Check the plugcfg in your root folder of where you installed 3ds (mine is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\plugcfg). If the two ini files are in that folder, move them to that other folder (AppData\Local\AutoDesk\3dsMax\201*-64bit\enu\plugcfg) I read somewhere that you have to move the 'whole plugcfg folder' to that location due to Admin privileges. Yes, try moving those files to that folder. Don't forget i'm using 2012 (and on Win7), while you are on 2018 so your install and folders may be different. I can't find where I read it but this is the closest I found. "If you have some trouble with administrator privileges, move "plugcfg" folder to "%localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2017 - 64bit\ENU\en-US" for your convenience." I had the same issue where NifTools didn't show up in 3ds until I moved the plugcfg folder from the NifTools plugin to that location, but I installed it manually from a zip file and not a .exe. I don't understand what do you mean. If the files are already in en-US\plugcfg. Why did you say that I move it to the plugcfg in Enu folder??? That contradicts yourself as much as I hate to say it. And in the Enu folder, there are no plugcfg folder, there is only plugcfg-ln Edited August 22, 2021 by LeoLieoLieo Link to comment

Hello. Those files weren't in the main install of my 3ds. However, I tried moving those files to the folders as you suggested. However it still couldn't find NifTools in Helper drop-down menu.
