Fallout 76

Is anyone here playing FO76?  I am wondering people's thoughts about the upcoming release of Private Worlds.  Bethesda did mention that modding will be available on Private Worlds.  Just curious if anyone has started thinking about this.

I don't know but isn't this FO4 General Discussion?

Yes, but we don't have a FO76 discussion :) And FO76 uses the same engine as FO4, so I am asking since they have talked about allowing Private Worlds to be modded in 2022.  Wondering how much of these mods will easily port to 76 if they actually release a CK for 76 :)

Fo76 is empty  ... Betheshda made Private Worlds so that 8 players can share emptyness together :)

just joking

Haha.  Its actually been very busy lately.  The new updates are very nice, and the base-building in the shelters is getting more interesting.  The mutation builds are a lot of fun.  I'm running a build that allows super jumping and jetpack without powerarmor.  So much fun!

Well It's all good, Idk why they just suddenly got interested on modding the private worlds. Dang I remember quitting FO76 because of the hackers cuz those people are just ruining the fun and steals all your items in the inventory.. :joy:

They have totally cracked down on the "Glitch Griefers"  That's one of the reasons Nuclear Winter is going away. People are duping weapons and doing crazy things.

And Bethesda totally adopted modding since the community actually does a better job of fixing issues than they do ?

This souds like you've been playing a BETA game, for the full retail price?

I just wonder.. why would you pay them for private worlds - probably monthly - to have the community fix THEIR stuff..

Just does not seem fair to me - aka - encourgages bad behaviour.

But hey, its your choice - I'm not judging, just asking.

Have a nice evening :)

I actually pay for the Private World because I do like just doing solo without having to compete with other players for materials and farming.  But yeah, Bethesda has always relied on the community to fix the solo games.  Skyrim was pretty much the first game, I believe, that had sanctioned mods on console and PC via their Mods Menu and the Creation Club.  They would be silly to not add that to Private Worlds so that people will a) pay to have a private world, b) create mods.

I actually deal with Microsoft on a regular basis in my work. They will be making a lot of changes to ensure consistency in coding models across Bethesda Games Studio and Zenimax.  FO76 could benefit from some of the ESO Quality of Life Features and vice versa.  I love that FO76 you don't need to queue to get into a group.  ESO's LFG is awful.

I am excited for the Private Worlds mods they are already making.  September 7th I believe is the full release.

EDIT:  Also, it would be amazing if Bethsoft would move the CK to Unity.  God that would make life so much easier.  CK is very similar from a coding perspective to Unity.  The Papyrus scripting is the same concept as the ScriptableObject in Unity.  Plus C# is much more powerful than Papyrus, with so many built in functions that CK does not have and have to be rewritten over and over again.

Mostly Console player (since Atari)  Play 76 via ps4, enjoy it now that I got an SSD.   Private worlds with edits seems neat.. but at same time, theres alot of locations you should be able to build anyway...

But they found some way to charge for things again. XD

If its cheap, and enough people join my world, taking over red rocket, or building in more fun spots be neat.

I'd got nice laptop, i play SKyrim SE and Fallout 4 on, Not sure I wanna redo my character and get all crap loot I got over 419 ranks Again. lol

Man RNG and Grind in 76 is so bad sometimes.

But I enjoy it...  thou, I find myself always pressing wrong buttons in FO4.

It is subscription based so a big no for me, I could afford it but will not until they really start fixing thing, npc pathing in workshop defence, npc's seeming being incapable of remembering what the hell they are talking about, animations which show a npc using a minigun or what not but then only looting a pipe gun or even nothing off of them, multiple things like that.

Idea is good, and you can already use mods, though pretty much only texture and mesh replacers, chances are that would take off more if nifscope would actually release the version that can read fallout 76 nifs, but from what I am aware their reason is no mods for the game need to be able to do nifs therefore they will not release, of course if people could edit nifs I am damn sure there would be mods that did edit nifs.

I do play, quite a bit, a couple of hours a day on one of my two accounts, though to be honest seasons are putting me off them game, getting tired of the same shit each day, while playing as well as the games obsession with killing legendaries and daily ops.

I hadn't hear this. I might look in to it. Although It will probably be a while. I'm currently on a new character on Fallout 4 and a fairly new playthrough on Skyrim SE (which includes the Legacy of the Dragonborn mod.) So it will probably be quite a while. However I may check it out after that. Thanks for the info.

There is enough in common to Fallout 4 that you should have no problem, there is also enough difference to at times catch you out with things.  It is an ok, game but needs a major bug and exploit fix doing, and chances are that is not going to get done quickly.  If you check around the key finders assuming you are on pc, the game can be got quite cheap, I paid £10 for my second account just before wastelanders came out.

I still sometimes revisit the reviews from around launch time, as a form of therapy. I don't really remember getting shafted harder than I did with 76.

I made sure there would be no subscription of any kind, before I bought the game. I made sure there would be genuine "oldschool" private servers (not the modern BS non-private, corporate-driven kind aka "Worlds"). I made sure there would be a Creation Kit available - they lied about all of this. Straight up lied. Because they knew ppl like me would never have bought it, if they had told the truth.
FO76 was the first & last game I ever pre-ordered. How could I have been so stupid!!!

I only play when there's a hack or an exploit worth doing. Okay, right now I'm actually having a bit of phun with my trap-camp (youtube "Curly Traps" for tuts). I get an adrenaline-kick out of snuffing 1sters and stealing their junk (a few of em are actually slightly inconvenienced). It reminds me of (whale?)fishing.
