Skyrim SLAL Error - can't register animations, console error attached

Hello, I am having issues with SLAL.

Since I can't screenshot with console on, I took a photo. The text in squares means "System can't find path:" in my language.

JContainers, Sexlab and SLAL are up to date, animation packs are installed using Vortex.

Any help appreciated.

It appears to be saying it cannot find this:

Data\SLAnims\json

Have you looked to see if that folder is actually there?

You could try reinstalling JContainers just in case something has overwritten it with an older version.

I have followed your advice and the error vanished after manually making the json folder, but I still can't register the new animations.

The SLAL downloaded is SLAnimLoader-1.5.7z

JContainers is newest version off of Nexus.

FNIS I run every time I do a change in anything to make sure all is up to date, the unregistered animations aren't counted.

My animation packs are FunnyBizAnimationsV25.1.zip and NonReplacerModsPACKED, both downloaded off of

both installed using Vortex.

I am using Legendary Edition Skyrim.

Your link is to the LE version which it states twice on that page.

Well, I haven't been able to find any install instructions on where to put it, SLAL only ever mentioned to install it using a mod organiser... Do you know more?

My post was referring to two different things. You are mixing them together.

The SLAL link you posted is for the LE version which it plainly state twice on the page. You need the SE version.

The second point was FunnyBizAnimations is not a mod, which it also plainly states, and is not for SE.

Huh, SE works normally for it? Sorry if I look like an idiot, I never used SLAL before.

Are you not aware that Skyrim LE and Skyrim SE are two different versions of the game? Generally speaking you need to use the version of a mod that is meant for that particular version of Skyrim, i.e. the SE version of SLAL for the SE version of Skyrim.

If you did not know this then you should really do some reading as you will not get far modding Skyrim.

There are a few threads over in the SE section with help and advice for getting SE modded.

This is a good guide.

I know this, that's why I download non-SE resources. All my mods are working EXCEPT for the SLAL loader, that's why I'm here because of it's issues. I couldn't read up where to install the animations, except the SLAL site was like: install them with a mod organizer or something. I did that, I have all the requirements and it won't listen.

Thank you for the concern, but I know how modding works, I just have problems here.

Sorry, I got you mixed up with another guy who is having similar problems but is running SE.

Let's start at the beginning again.

You are using Skyrim LE.

You reinstalled JContainers and let it overwrite anything it asked.

Post your FNIS output here. (That the text that FNIS produces in the lower box when you run it).

Here it is, no patches ticked.

The SKELETON Arm Fix patch should always be ticked.

GENDER Specific is only needed if you have animations which specifically require it. Tick the box, run FNIS and if you see any lines with 'MALE' or 'FEMALE' (in caps) then you need it ticked, if not then you can untick it.

Something has overwritten XPMSE skeleton so you need to reinstall it. When it is good FNIS will say:

Skeleton(hkx) female: XPMS2HDT (126 bones)   male: XPMS2HDT (126 bones).

You do not have any SLAL packs installed which will probably be the reason for SLAL being empty.

This is a SLAL pack and one of the most popular:

https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/3999-billyys-slal-animations-2021-7-2/

The one you want is second from bottom dated 2nd July.

For future reference, just copy and paste all the text in the white box - that is the FNIS output.

Ah, thank you for a lot of help! Still, seeing how SLAL is empty, how do I put the animations in properly? Where do I drop the zip or it's contents?

You install a SLAL pack just like you install any mod - through your mod manager.
