I'm getting this texture bug where the nails at a distance look almost "cracked" or fading away. I tried a couple of things already to locate the issue to no success. Originally it was done using slavetats. Then, I switched to using this mod. Then, I edited the texture file directly. All had the same effect. I also tried using slavetats with another "tattoo" but it seems to only happen with the nail paint.

Also I doubled checked my skyrim settings in the launcher and my settings are all set to high as well as the draw distances, so I don't think there is any issues that can arise from there. Tried disabling enb in the ingame enb settings, no change. The feet mesh is from this mod, but this also ultimately didn't have an effect either because even the default BHUNP foot meshes had the same problem.

So I'm completely stumped now on what is causing this because I can't find anyone else who also has this problem.

Same here, even without nail overlays.

I suppose it could be a mesh problem since i'am using BHUNP as well.

The original "makeup" kit for SlaveTats was done for a specific body, I believe it was for LE's UNP, and doesn't apply correctly.

What you can do is find the correct ones for your body and put them in that folder with same name and your problem is solved.

I did that for CBBE 3BA

I thought UNP and BHUNP textures were both compatible with each other, I don't think there's any specific tattoos for BHUNP in that case.

They can't be the same because LE uses BC5 dds files and .tga textures

And SE uses BC7 Linear dds files with pixel sizes in multiples of 4 for x and y directions.

If you have a body that is compatible with UNP run the textures through Cathedral Assets Optimizer and done.

If not you will have to find compatible textures.

Oh, the mod I linked was from SE and I'm pretty sure I'm using the SlaveTatsSE version as well. I double checked with the textures from Slavetats with Cathedral Asset Optimizer and it seems to be in the right texture form.

I tried painting the texture under the nail (so the actual foot) just to test how it looks and it doesn't fix it but I can definitely tell that the nail part of the foot mesh is fading away and letting the bottom out as I suspected. Not sure how to fix this though.

Did you ever figure out the problem or have it resolved?
I figured the root problem is not just the mesh issue since I've tried several different feet mods (all unp however) and they all had the same problem. But HG feet seemed to work better than others. I also thought that the problem could be with the textures themselves, but it seems like every new texture I tried had the same issue.

Edit: It's also probably not a skyrimprefs.ini issue since I reset all those values to default and still ran into the issue.

They seem to be a little bit off of the feet since I use BHUNP. I mean I could probably line it up properly in outfit studio or I could also increase the volume of the nails on the feet but these are just band-aids to a root problem which I want to figure out.

So I noticed that this issue might not be specific to just the foot nail mesh. At a distance I also noticed that an outfit piece (hat) was going transparent in a sort of similar fashion as the nails and a cloth of mine was not going transparent but letting the mesh behind (schlong pubic hair) render through.

I think I can conclude at least that it's not a BHUNP or body issue.
