My characters keep running left and they dont stop whatever i do.... some help?

My characters keep running left and they don't stop... i tried everything and i don't want to uninstall game because downloading all mods again would take forever.. so does someone know what would help?

Had the same problem too until I realized my gamepad did it, after removing the pad and restarting oblivion all worked fine.

It might be that you pressed too many keys at once, making the game think that the key assigned to going left is still pressed. If so, you can just tap said key, and release it. That should fix it.

However, if this problem is persistent (a.k.a. saving-reloading/restarting does nothing to fix this), it's something else. Perhaps the gamepad issue heihong mentioned. It could also be a mod that forces you to go left.

 

Might want to post your loadorder of neither of these suggestions fix it. (if you do, please use spoiler-tags)

It could be that you are pressing "Q" which by default is the "auto move" key. In other words if you hit it you will begin moving and not stop and have very little control. Hit escape and go into your oblivion options and change the auto move key to something well out of the way (like the p or o keys). That should fix you up... Unless of course you do have a mod conflict. Try this fix and if it doesn't correct things then do as Hitman69 recommended and post your load order.

go into the oblivion ini and turn off gamepad support,used to have this problem too...it's a known issue

this is a bug what ever you do, don't save game when this happens.. just exit, and reload and earlier save.. if you save the game will be corrupted, and you will have to go to and earlier save anyway to fix it.

 

It happens when and animation does not clear right.. It can happen in the best of mod's.. I use to get it in vanilla Oblivion sometimes.

 

and yes the game port could cause it, I use to use a joystick a lot for moving.. I remember It use to happen a lot more then.
