KainsChylde Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 For some reason, every other time I launch the game by any means (FOMM Launch button, 4gb launcher, NVSE launcher, game shortcut, etc.) it will bring up the first-time startup screen and reset all of my .ini files. Anyone have any idea why it's doing that?
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Are you using anything like stutter remover, enb, d3ds9.dll or anything else that adds an ini file to your root folder? FNV configator maybe, things like that?
BruceWayne Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 It does that, if Steam isn't loaded. Happens to me frequently too, if I forget to load up Steam after a reset. But my inis don't reset, that sounds terrible.
zippy57 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Every time the launcher starts, it copies the Fallout_default.ini to your save folder as Fallout.ini, and I really want to know who thought that was a smart idea.
KainsChylde Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 I am using stutter remover, and configator. I also have DarnUI so I have to edit the ini for the fonts.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Stutter remover used to do that for me, and I never really noticed any difference with it on or off. I take it this isn't steam related like suggested above?
zippy57 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Replace fallout_default.ini with your edited version so the automatic overwrite doesn't change anything.
KainsChylde Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Well I was just able to run the game normally, and steam was loaded at the time. So loading steam first may be the solution, gotta try it a few more times to be sure it is the actual fix. And thanks for the idea, Zippy, I'll try that too.
