Guest Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Hello, i have a strange problem. In game, there is no error shown. But for some reason, the game freezes. Essentially, i have to log out and in to get started again. The error log only showed Jens Wicked Job, which i removed. It said that it could not find a function in regards of infusion. What ever that means. Anyway, after the latest crash or freeze, there was no error log in the folder. Is this a common phenomena? Are there any mods that could cause this freeze? I think i installed the latest versions of the mods. MC is 8.1 for example. I forget to mention that this happens very random. Could be starting and about 10 minutes, or 1-2 hours. It may be linked to certain actions the character or character do. Not sure. Thank you
Crashdown117 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Did you remember to delete "localthumbcache.package", found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4", after deleting the mod files? Also, double-check all mods and the game version, just to be on the safe side. And delete "localthumbcache" again after any updates or changes to your Mods folder. If all else fails, test your mods for any "troublemakers". Move them all out of the Mods folder and run the game (remember to delete "localthumbcache"). If the error persists, try repairing your game via Origin/Steam. If everything works, gradually add your mods back in (either a bunch at a time or following the 50/50 method). Whenever you add some, delete "localthumbcache" and run the game to test them. Any errors you see now are caused by the files you added last, so test those mods more thoroughly (split the bunch or maybe one by one) to find the culprit. Continue to do this until you have tested all files. On a side note: This is a good opportunity to organize your Mods folder, if you haven't done so already. You can create one level of sub-folders within Mods (e.g. "Mods/WickedWhims") and should do so in order to keep things tidy. If you have a sub-folder for every script mod, your WW animations, and different categories of custom content (clothing, furniture etc), future mod testing will be done much quicker (due to operating with sub-folders rather than individual files).

Do what Crashdown said and if still having problems try doing an Origin Repair.

Seems to be the curse for mods once they do not get maintained.

That will be cumbersome with all the mods i have. I probably do not have as much as others but still. Yes, i will start using folders instead of tossing everything in the mod folder. I reinstall stupid Sims 4 several times and deleted beforehand every cache files. But that did not solve the problem. Unless Sims 4 is itself buggy, i will find that mod.

Remove half your mods and retest then you know which half has the broken mod. Then do it again on the bad half. But it is possible you have more than one broken mod. The other problem might be duplicate mods/cc but if you can get your game to run WW will generate a log file you can look into to see about any dupes.

Yep, updates kill mods that are not actively maintained by their creators. Anything older than half a year is likely to cause trouble, from my experience at least. If you're looking to replace Wicked Jobs, try Nisa's Wicked Perversions.
