Exporting 'combined' nifs from Outfit Studio

Hey

I'm having an issue trying to export a customized nif from Outfit Studio. I am trying to combine a version of Vampire Dark Knight Armor with a couple of items from Northgirl (namely the trousers and chainmail "sweater")

I have attached a picture of the expected result after fiddling around in Outfit Studio - but when I try to export it as a nif (as a replacer for the cuirass from Dark Knight) the cuirass and the "chainmail sweater" show up fine but all other parts - Pauldrons, Gloves, Boots and Trousers are invisible.

I didn't grab a screen shot of the result in game but it was mostly fine, a couple of issues with the meshes that would be covered up by the other parts anyway since I tried to export it as a one-piece outfit.

I don't normally ask for help with this kind of thing as solving issues is half the fun - but I think I have overlooked something small and have been barking up the wrong tree for so long trying to solve it I'm not sure where to (re)start.

Any suggestions appreciated,

Cheers

When combining different parts, make sure all parts use the same equipment slot. You can change the slots under the "Partitions" tab.

Bullseye!

Was not expecting a solution so fast but I just changed the slots and it's now working perfectly.

Thank you very much for the help!

Another way is to load the nif/nifs up into nifskope and click the pieces and in the left list right click the BSDismemberSkinInstance for the piece and convert it to NiSkinInstance then those pieces in the nif will not have any slots and will instead use the slots picked in the .esp/.esm instead for the nif. So just right click BSDismemberSkinInstance go to convert - nis - NiSkinInstance overwrite nif once done.

Thanks for the tip I will try that out next time seems like it would be less tedious on an armor with this many parts.

I actually have a new problem and don't really want to make another thread so if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it...

When I equip the outfit in game everything is correct except for hand and feet meshes which clip really badly with the Boots and Gloves. I have attached another screenshot to show the issue with the feet.

The "reference body"  I made the outfit around was the one from the Dark Knight mod and it didn't have hand/feet meshes to start with as they *should* be completely covered by the Gloves/Boots so I don't know where these new ones are coming from.

Is there a way to hide the hand and foot meshes when the outfit is equipped? That would be the simplest fix I can think of even if it doesn't solve the route problem.

Again, any help would be appreciated - I'm sure this is just a small kink caused by me doing something slightly wrong...

That's because you don't have the foot slot ticked in the nif/nifs and .esp/.esm. So when you equip it the players feet don't get removed/hidden.

Ah ok great, thank you!

Can I do those things from nifscope and SSEedit?
