Is it possible to use different bodyslide presets for PC and NPCs? (is that what this bodygen thing is used for?)

I was considering using this bodyslide preset for my PC: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/90528

however I do not want all female NPCs to have this bodytype, would I be possible to change the bodyslide preset for NPCs only?

i've read this post but i don't really understand it to be honest, i'm not trying to have random morphs for NPCs, just have the NPCs and PC use different bodyslide presets

The easiest way to do what you want is to install a custom race replace the meshes and textures for that race with your desired custom ones.

Your next challenge would be armour and clothing which will either mean you having every NPC wearing armour/clothing created to your Snu Snu preset looking the same shape as your character (until naked) or, your character looking "normal" when wearing armour/clothing but muscular when naked.

You might be able to adjust your character enough in the Racemenu bodyslide page to look something like but you wouldn't be using custom textures (to give the appearance of extreme muscle definition) without a plugin to change the textures that the PC uses. I would think finding a decent custom race would be a better (meaning easier) option.

With regards armour, the work around that comes to mind requires a bit of RP. Install Remodeled armor UUNP set it up as Standalone. This way it doesn't replace any vanila outfits. Batch Build it all to your preset. Then in game accept that you cannot wear any armor or clothings off of regular folks until it's modified (done at a tanning rack) when you modify it to the remodeled version it will now match your preset and, as a bonus, be skimpy AF too.

Yes, Bodygen does allow the females to have unique bodyshape.

I have read up on it quite a bit and still dont really understand how to actually implement it, I suppose that given that I do a lot of my own modding I just figured someday I would get around to it or someone else would write a proper file to make use of it.

As far as I can remember you can set each race to have a specific range of sliders or set bodytype.

Each unique female in the game can have a specific range or bodytype of their own as well.

I seem to remember trying to use some bodygen docs made for fallout 4, but did not really like the results that others had made they would be extreme for some characters like making Marcy Long quite obese.

The main point of interest in Skyrim would be to make the females of each race a bit more unique like making elves slender compared to other women, without having to use race mesh folders which there is a mod for that and I have done that, its a whole lot of work to get working in the game.  With bodygen though there is no need to have multiple race specific mesh folders for each body and set of armor in the game though, since Bodygen works on the TRI files and implements the differences though those.

So yes, one iron armor mesh then and you can have each race or unique female with a unique body shape that no other female in the game has or only females of same race....Just depends on how specific you get with the document that must be written.

I think the main reason I never got around to using Bodygen is because there is a quicker method to altering at least specific females in the game by way of a couple of different mods.

1) Manipulator available here on LL, allows you to modify a female NPC body in racemenu.....So you can give Lydia a big ass.

2) EFF stand alone cosmetic menu, available on Nexus.  doesnt have as much stuff as Manipulator but its a power key and does the same cosmetic stuff manipulator can do....Also can change lydia butt or well any bodyslide slider really.

So those two mods kind of dampen the desire to change every race/female in game.  Since companions can be changed quickly as far as bodyshape goes.

Also my own mod Book of UUNP and of course Bikinifier both of these provide so much armor variation that body shape being the vehicle for mixing it up visually sort of falls to the way side.

My character is a dark elf so theoretically could this be sort of achieved by making the dark elves have a different bodytype to everyone else?

Bodygen

Has

Global Race Setting

Unique Person Setting, supercedes global race setting.

So if you play a default race, your female character will obey the Global Race Setting OR..... since player character is a unique person, you could set up the player character bodyslide setting in the doc.

Not sure how to implement modded races but it may be possible.

I'll download this tool and see if I can get It working: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/88707?tab=files

sorry to bother you again but what's the "target" for unique person?  I know that the one for all females is "All|Female", so what should the target be for a unique person? is it the person's ID?

I didn't read enough to see that it could do that and didn't realise that it would transfer these changes to bodyslide outfits as well. Now if there was something like that for SOS...

However, that is some 24 values that need to be manually created (although you can get that from the preset snusnu.xml) and you'd still need to address the skin texture files or the PC will just use default skins.

Also, going back to your previous post, I am pretty certain the changes made in Manipulator aren't permanent and the next time you load the game up Lydia's ass will back to normal so I don't think that is really an option.

Try Skyrim.esm|7=Prisoner

Don't know if that would work...

maybe Skyrim.esm|00000007?

The 0's aren't required.

Taking the example given reading the thread

Skyrim.esm|B9982=Jenassa

how do i exclude a specific character? for example if my darkelf character is set to "Skyrim.esm|7=Cynthia=Athletic" and the dark elf race is set to "All|Female|DarkElfRace=PresetName", will that cause an issue?

here is my current morph.tri:

"

All|Female=Athletic|BottomHeavy|cow|curvy|Hour Glass|Medium|Top Heavy|veryskinny
All|Female|OrcRace=Snusnu|SnusnuFlat
Skyrim.esm|7=Cynthia=Athletic

"

will it cause issues since All|Females, technically also covers orcs and my character?

I've no idea as I have never used it (didn't realise what it could actually do) but going by Gameplayer's post and explaination of it.

So anything you set up for a unique character (whether NPC or PC) should "overwrite" any global/race settings.

ah nice, If this works i might write a simple guide with everything I did.

works for everything but the player, i think that " Skyrim.esm|7=Cynthia=Athletic " might be incorrect

Here's a screenshot of my PC's info so incase you know what to do, so far i've tried "Skyrim.esm|00014", "Skyrim.esm|00007", and  "Skyrim.esm|14"  and they haven't worked

I've come up with the temporary solution of disabling building a the "athletic" body, saving the preset then loading it when the mod is on, although I would still prefer if I could do I just with bodygen for simplicity sake.

Oh yes, Bodygen does indeed impact the look of all females that are wearing outfits made with TRI bodymorph files.

Again, my experience with using Bodygen comes from playing with it in FO4 but it should be the same.

SOS does have a bodyslide variation around somewhere but I never bothered hunting it down, I figured that since it does not have a lot of support in the way of male outfits well found anywhere really...Why bother looking for it.  I cant remember off the top of my head the name of the file but I think its on another website.

Manipulator changes are permanent until you either change them or run a save cleaner in my experience from using it for years.

I think you can use specific ID,

player ID is 00000014

This should work for each unique female as well, and should be listed in the documentation.

I think the easiest way to set up different body presets for PC and NPCs is to utilize the weight slider. For example, there are two presets called "Slim" and "Curvy" but you can combine them so that it's "Slim" at 0 weight and "Curvy" at 100 weight. The result is that NPCs body shapes will vary from "Slim" to "Curvy" and so will the PC's body.

The downside of this method is that you're bound to bump into an NPC that has the same body weight value (or almost the same weight value) as you do.

that's basically what i've been  trying to do but "Skyrim.esm|00000014" doesn't seem to work though

Closest I know, in respect for bodies, is VectorPlexus' SAM but what I meant was in respect of schlong size. I can't find a way to force a Min and Max size for each type, as not all schlong types are equal. Size 10 on Muscular or Smurf Average is fine, 10 on Bad Dogs or Regular will clip through a Giantess.

But I digress.

I was sure it didn't but maybe you are right and it does "bake" the changes to saves and what I am thinking of is different play thru's (I do tend to make a lot of them)
