Talamaeus Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 SO Steam is evidently increasing Adult only content. I found a game, by complete fluke in my Queue (however it is only a playable alpha right now) that really surprised me. It's called Breeders of the Nephelym. It's basically like Skyrim Sexlab without any combat. I'm going to try it out now, but I thought you guys might want to take a look. Apparently you can breed with and make farms out of the various creatures. Oh, and I forgot to mention it is free to play.
newtonx2012 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 If you like Skyrim Sexlab you will LOVE Breeders of the Nephilim.
Lexi SubZero Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 People should really share their "accidental stumbles" more often. Added this to my wishlist for now. Thanks.
hawkie10 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 I got that and if you like that game try wildlife (it's not in steam) its similar could be a good game

Also there's nothing secret about your secret, it takes literally ticking a check box once to view AO material in your regular queue.

coldheartzero Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Been on for a long time now. Actually saw it there before Steam.
Wanderer22 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 I'm wary of playing games like this on Steam because my entire friends list will see it. They really need to add a way to keep certain games completely invisible.

We need to be able to select individual games. The "Hide this game" only affects your visibility of the title in your game list, your Friends can still see it.

I personally don't care if people see me playing whatever, etc, though I think I have my "show activity" and all that turned off anyway, but.. That's pretty stupid. If you care enough to hide a game from yourself, seems it would only be logical you ALSO want it hidden from everyone else who might try to look, so yeah. Forced to completely agree with you. They need to fix that, though knowing Steam, we'll probably go through like 3 complete interface overhauls and 12 features no one ever asked for before it happens.

I grew tired of Breeders very quickly, but when I tried it it was much earlier in development. May try it again, the concept of the game is great.

fanhigh Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Idk why people think this is new. Its been on patreon for ages. There is even free public builds. https://www.patreon.com/BreedersOfTheNephelym
g2798484 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Whenever a project is on Patreon, will never be finished and dropped in five years after the money well's dried up. Most 3D adult projects on Patreon are literally designed for minimum effort and maximum money raking, specifically those aunt/mom goblina incest visual novels built in Ren'Py. Breeders is one of those games.

Breeders is one of those games. It's very common, but there are a very small number of developers on patreon (though now many have moved to subscribestar) that do a good job of keeping up progress, finishing projects, and giving news updates. The number of them is tiny, I know of less than 5 personally (off the top of my head), but they do exist (though some of them died without milking for whatever reason, being on a per update basis not a monthly basis). The only ones off the top of my head are Remtairy who have 1 fully completed game released 2 projects they did the localization (and some art IIRC, they weren't to my taste so I didn't pay much attention to them) and are currently a good part of the way into another game's production. The other one is Sierra Lee who has multiple completed shorter games and one longer ongoing game that gets frequent updates, and constantly gives news updates. She was also formerly being of Hrienn games (she left before it really became part of the milking scam club). But yeah, the vast majority of per month supported adult games either outright start as or become a scam over time. Honestly, if you're looking to support a project pay a lot of attention to how frequent their news and game updates are as well as the amount of content in those updates. Also sunk cost fallacy is a big thing, if the project goes to shit (slow / small updates) drop it, don't just hope it'll get better again.

Oddly enough no one has hit my steam messages going "Breeders of the Nephilim? Bro you nasty" ...because most of my friends on steam are equally nasty bros.

I'd like to add Seeds of Chaos on the "developers who do a good job of keeping up projects" front. They're on steam at this point, too, though they're far from finished. I've been following them on patreon for ages (Not donating, I'm too broke for monthly commitments, but I did buy the steam version), they've made slow but steady progress, the game's barely recognizable as what I played when I first started following it (they do free public builds, too, worth checking out). But yeah, there are a lot of scammy, low quality games on patreon. And on steam, really. And Itch.io (which is way more convenient than patreon, since I can auto update games through it, even if it is often wonky.. Really hope more people start using that). That's just a staple of porn games, though lol. It's why I never got around to using Subscribstar- when I last tried there wasn't a difference between "following" and "subscribing" so it was like, either you paid to "subscribe" or you couldn't follow them, and get updates and what not like you would on patreon, but I'll follow pretty much any game, just to periodically check in on it, see if the games solid yet, or if it needs to bake a little longer.
