Mouse Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I cannot see how TESO would lead to cancellation of TESVI, since 1) they are made by different companies with completely separate teams and budgets and 2) TESO was specifically set into early period so that it would not hinder and restrict TES series development.
Astaroth-Lite Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I don't see why pay to play when there are great options for pay once like guild wars 2 Â Guild Wars 2 is great, certainly something I'd recommend even as someone that never really liked MMOs to begin with.
Irishredneck Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Agree with Astaroth. GW2 is like crack, and meth, mixed in gravy... over cinnamon toast... with cold beer...and bacon. It will CONSUME your time. You will forget your family, job and life... to only play Guild Wars 2.  Oh.. and it's free once you buy the game.
slamdunk Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 didnt get into Beta...don't care. Tons of hoo haaa videos no gameplay clues.

That's about the only thing I approve of in this mess. If they set it after the series and had some generic assholes running around saying they're the Agent/Nerevarine/Champion/Dovahkiin I would've been pissed (I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU, SWTOR).  I liked GW2, however the fact that Arenanet lied about compulsory gear progression and that their only response to constructive criticism is to hand out bans put me off that game for life. They are far too immature and full of ego for me to bother with.
TheoryoftheDead Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Personally I don't get the whole hype thing surrounding TESO. It's the elder scrolls in MMO form - and being as such, there are certain (what I would consider negative) attributes that will follow. Â This being first and foremost being locked into a class. The game boasts about customization and yadda yadda yadda, but we all know in reality, if you choose to play a "non-meta" build, you'll be having a very hard time finding and staying in groups. They also mentioned that you could try challenges playing solo - but if I wanted to play alone, why the hell would I be playing an MMO, rather than a singleplayer game? Â Furthermore is the "exploration" bit. Yes, you can travel all around Tamriel - once you've hit a high enough level. Unlike the single player TES titles, most areas will be leveled, forcing you to stay in one out of three areas until you've hit the appropriate level - at which point you'll move on to the next area and repeat the process until you've capped out. Â Not to mention that there won't be any mods. Â Oh and grinding. Did I say grinding? I did say grinding didn't I?....Oh, and there'll be grinding.

Every MMO has to be exactly the same. Every MMO has to be freakin WoW. This is why I just don't bother anymore, because MMOs are where innovation goes to die. Â TES would at least provide an opportunity to try something new in this stale and derivative genre with regards to class and character growth, but no, WoW clone all the way!

Ascended gear is only slightly more powerful than exotic and less powerful than legendary, in fact there really isn't that much of a difference stat-wise; there are also no ascended weapons or armor; you can buy them with laurels; you don't have to do the dungeons. You have nothing to worry about.  As for the bans, those people probably should have been more tactful with their "constructive criticism". You know how people on the internet are, as soon as someone changes something even slightly there are the people that will start cursing up a storm and flinging insults, then once they get banned for it they suddenly start whining about how they where just 'expressing their concerns.' It's all incredibly silly.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Getting real sick of the player character being some chosen one.
Astaroth-Lite Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Especially since this is an MMO; there are going to be thousands of "chosen ones" all running around causing mayhem.
