Hi there,

I did some hacking and I'd like to ask those who actually know what they are doing, if I broke something or not.

I have DD 5.1 SE. The Chastity Belt is on slot 49. I also have a couple of armor mods which also use the slot 49 (skirts mostly).

So instead of editing all the armors, I made an .esl patch in SSEEdit for DD Assets to use the belts (iron, padded, paddedopen) on slot 60. I also modified the .nifs of the belts so they point to slot 60. The belts seem to work fine in game, but I simply don't have the knowledge if my hack made something bad.

I also know that I have to make patches for mods which has their own CB versions, like Laura's shop for example.

So, should this hack work?

Peace,

M

A way to get worn DD Items without creating a Hard Dependency to DD is by getting the Items from a specific Character Slot and analysing them

That requires Items to be in that specific slot however

If you have mods that hook into DD without hard dependency and do look for a chastity belt, its possible that issues may occur here

But that should be the only instance, at least I cant think of anything else

I tried it with Devious lore. That mod has a minigame to remove DD items. it found the Belt on Slot 60 and could remove it. So far so good. :)

As far as I remember, DD 5.x has slots hardcoded in some scripts, so some framework functions may break. It is possible that you'll need to patch and recompile them in addition to changing slots on belts themselves.

Yeah, I failed. At first it looked everything is fine, because the quest belt from Laura's Shop worked fine. But then I thought I should make some more tests and the DD belts were all invisible on the character. I couldn't make them visible, so I gave up and I'm making patches for the armor mods instead. It will be about a 2-300 edits, but I'm doing them is smaller doses, when I encounter an unequippable armor/clothing.

Thanks for the answers though.
