Invisible Orc Female Head Bug

Hello everybody !

 

I reinstalled Skyrim recently, everything went smooth, even after installing some mods. No crash at launch, game seemed to go well, okay.

I then tried to create an Orc Female Character, but wa-bam : the lethal invisible head bug. Only eyes, a mouth and hairs floating in the air. I tried disabling each and every mod I thought could cause the problem, as they aren't many, but nothing fixed it. So I disabled ALL my mods, yet my problem wasn't resolved. I runned FNIS just in case, but nope, not that either.

 

I'm looking for your guidance, fellow modders, so that maybe you can guide me to my dream of a musclebound orc warrior. With Bobs.

I use both the latest version of SKSE (1.7.3) and FNIS v6.3.

Sounds like your orc's head nif is missing.

My apologies, but my knowledge of Skyrim technical terms isn't exactly stellar. I guess it means that I have missing textures? Or Something along those lines ?

 

Do you have a suggestion on what kind of solution I could use ?

Have you looked at the other races, e.g. Nord, Imperial, etc? Are their heads missing?

Argonians and Khajiit use a different head to the others so look at those too.

If everyone is missing the head then you done something wrong somewhere.

Have you been in the game and if so, are any heads missing?

 

The head nifs should be in Data\meshes\actor\characters\character assets (or wherever it is that MO puts them).

 

Pro tip: Make sure the base game is stable and working correctly before loading 100+ mods.

 

The 'nif' is basically the wire-frame which the skin/texture sits on.

Every other race has its head, without a failure. Only Orc Females seems to lacks a nif. For that matters I can't find any .nif file under the data path you gave me. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing ...

As for the stability of the game, well, it IS stable. I haven't met bugs, crashes in 4 hours of play.

The question is: how did you try to create a female orc character. Because it cannot be due to missing textures or nifs, as these are already present in the BSA of Skyrim Vanilla. And I don't see a replacer in your load order that could possibly be corrupt.

 

Loaded a preset without having the corresponding Nif? Etc.

Well, at character creation. I once learned the hard way that trying to change race in the middle of a playthrough leads to quite cataclysmic consequences.

In character creation, of course - and when does not matter if the race is not changed.

The question is, do you use presets or has the head already disappeared when you switch from Male NORD to Female ORC.
And the next question would be, is it only like this in the Race menu, or also in the game?

You also didn't see that in the screenshot things start with mod number 92.

Citrus would be a replacer and by the tris (or vice versa - without the tris) a reason. The body is irrelevant.

Or do you mean something else?

I mean there are 80-odd installed mods which you cannot see so you cannot say whether there are any which replace anything.

You are right about that. I didn't look at that.
But it would not be an advantage for him / her - at least when it comes to analyzing the problem.

I didn't include any of those mods because they were coming from Steam, and I never, at any moment, thought they could be the cause of the problem ... I went with the idea they were "harmless". How foolish one man can be...

Now - again the question as described above. How do you create the female orc? Is it from Vanilla's presets or a RaceMenu preset? If it's a preset for RaceMenu, what is your previous race, gender, and weight?
