Inconsistent nudity [SOLVED- bad CC]

I keep having trouble with the nudity in my game. There are times when the chicks won't get naked in CAS. And other times sims get into the shower fully clothed in outfits that aren't even in their lineup. I'm sure it's because I've moved something, or deleted something. Could someone enlighten me as to what I need to do to make sure sims are naked when they're supposed to be? Do I need to have something in the "Defaults" folder? Do I just need a "Default" body? Can having multiple body meshes break things? Or does this just happen when the game updates and breaks the nudity mods?

Sometimes but usually when using more than one Default Body since WW also has it's own default included.

You can only add a second one and then use the WW body selector in game and pick Maxis/default.

Because defaults don't show up in the named list of body selector.

I prefer using non-defaults and avoid anything and everything default.

And Skin Overlays are safer than regular Skins.

Outdated CC Skins and clothing might also cause glitching.

Look in your TS4 folder for a file named WickedInfoLog.log and open it.

Scroll down a fair bit past the mods listings to find the 'Duplicates' entry and the number should be 0 obviously.

If not it will list your dupes you need to delete.

Duplicate mods/cc can also cause strange things.

And of course your game should be up to date along with all the script mods.

Downloading older custom sims might have included out of date clothing, cc, or other mods.

I'll look at that file shortly. But dupes aren't a problem. I spend a fair bit of time with Powershell clearing duplicate files. It's MUCH faster than doing it manually through any of the conflict-finder programs. I do, however, have broken CC and old CC.  I haven't purged the broken stuff since my last big shopping spree. I use S4S batch fixes on everything I download. But there's no guarantee they fix everything. I can work up a script to move everything more than X years old or something to see if that helps. It isn't the first time this has happened. I have no idea what fixed it the first time. And with over 10,000 files in the folder there's no telling what the problem is. Time to start a 50/50 search.

Yes, more files = more possible problems and the 50/50 thing is about your only hope of finding it.

The proverbial 'Finding a Needle in a Haystack'...

Even more frustrating when the problem is random.

Looked at that log file, holy crap is that a mess. Did find one potential duplicate. But it's the default skin that I put in this morning to try and fix the problem.

Also, got rid of the roburkey emotional inertia script and a couple Tmex scripts that are suspect. Don't have time to find the broken CC or start the 50/50, I'm in class online right now. Tinkering with all this during the slow parts of the lecture. Might open the game in windowed mode to see if anything's changed. Playing Sims in school. Technology is wonderful.

Going to keep updating this thread as I find anything. That way if anyone else happens across this via a search they might find a helpful hint.

Pulled all the scripts except WW, no change. Got rid of a bunch of broken CC, still nothing. I was trying to sort my CC by age, but powershell is not cooperating. I figured it made sense to pull the oldest half first.

I'll tinker some more tomorrow after I finish my homework. 51 and doing homework, strange world.

You're never too old to do your homework! ;)

Well, the good news is that it is definitely a problem with CC. I Renamed the mods folder to hide the CC then put WW by itself in a new mods folder. Lo and behold, chicks get nekkid in CAS again. The bad news is now I have to figure out which of over 10,000 pieces is the problem. Even with 50/50 it's going to take a minute to shuffle that many files around. Even worse, it could be some combination of things rather than a single piece.

Well, that was a fun couple hours. 10,350 pieces... narrowed it down to one swimsuit set. For some reason, the link embedder isn't working for me. I dropped it below so that others can see it in case they run into the same problem. The strange thing is that I've had that swimsuit almost as long as I've had the game. So I don't understand why it has caused problems a couple times but been fine most of the time. I have a few more of his pieces, they don't cause any trouble. I thought it had to be something I added recently, but nope.

Ok....I always have Sims4Studio running when I download cc....easy to check or change the flags in mycc....once downloaded some thigh boots that were flagged for sleep and nude...soon changed that though....

Also remember you can only have 1 default of anything....skin....nude top or bottom.....feet etc etc.

Out of curiosity, I downloaded it again. And it works just fine. So maybe the one I had was corrupted somehow. I have the new one isolated. If it acts up again I'll be able to get rid of it.

I often download a few hundred things at once. Not so simple to check the flags on that many at once. But I have come up with a way to fix them fairly easily after the fact. I load up a household with all the mislabeled stuff in CAS, then use the Tray Importer to find the packages and move them into a "working" folder. Then I just have to open that folder in S4S and I can breeze through everything that's screwed up. Fixed all my swimwear and cold weather tags in just a couple hours today. Definitely tired of seeing miniskirts in "cold weather" and cowboy boots in "swimwear".

I'm still confused by the whole "default" thing. I don't have much of anything that says "default". I don't even have a selection to choose from when I open the body selector menu.

You won't see default stuff in cas as it replaces the maxis stuff...so a default nude top replaces the maxis barbi skin etc etc

When you download something that's default it usually says, such as default eyes or teeth....

That's extremely helpful. I do actually have a nude top and bottom that show up in CAS. I'd been thinking about removing them since they occasionally show up in the game. But they do appear to be identical to the defaults, so I thought they were the defaults.
