How to put dancing spot marker on a bar

hope this the right place to post. how do you place dancing marker on a bar? Thought you just used testing cheats etc and  "alt" when placing but still ends up on floor

Don't think you can....unless anyone more knowledgeable knows different.

I agree, I don't think that you can put the dance marker on the bar either.  The closest I believe you can get to looking like there are dancers on the bar is by placing a counter next to the bar and putting a dance marker on that.

'Ctrl'+9/0 should move the marker up/down and with 'Alt' pressed one should be able to move it anywhere (bb.moveobjects may be needed). Does this not work for bars?

How do you use the dancing spot marker?  I have no dancing spots designated.  I can't figure out how to assign them.

I got it to work Click the spot marker click F5 to place it on half grid and 0 and 9 to move it up and down and [ or ] to make it big or small I got it to work on any bar

You can't put it directly on the bar unless you do what Oops19 said. BUT...

 

You CAN snap a kitchen island counter (the counter Sims can sit at) to the end of your bar and the marker will snap on top. You can also stick a dishwasher under the island counter.

You might have girls dancing in thin air depending on the animation.  Experiment with position of the "X", maybe put another counter behind the "X"

 

You can also put markers on tables.
