WW causing lagging since latest patch

I don't understand why this is the case but WW is causing lagging in my game since the latest patch. Laptop mode is off and uncompressed textures are on. I factory reset my game twice, repaired my game twice, clean boot my pc and updated my graphic card. I also did the 50/50 method with my mods and cc's. When WW was removed from my game everything worked fine. As soon as I add it back, the lagging begins. I normally use over 3000 plus animations in my game with WW, I currently reduce that to 46 and I'm still having lagging issues. I also use AEP and just started using RedAppleNet, I updated both and was getting LE's from them so I removed them. I thought that's where the issues stemmed from but that wasn't the case. I've been using WW for about 2 plus years now with a bunch of animation and no problems. I'm a bit clueless at this point.

The problem is some computers can't handle the new required graphics settings, especially laptops.

Probably the best solution is to revert back to WW 1.61c for now as others have done.

If you also use Nisa's WP that will also have to roll back to the previous version 'h' I think.

Some are still working on a fix so those Game/WW settings won't be needed anymore.

If you had the black penis issue before it can sometimes be fixed by editing sim/s in CAS and selecting other skin tones.

well, I can't tell if I have the same problem, but I sometimes have pretty low FPS for unknown reasons (like really low, around 10-ish). In Live Mode or BB or even CAS.
I can't tell if it's connected to WW, but if I hit ESC (to open the menu) and go back to play, the FPS go up again

Haven't tried removing WW to check if I still have the FPS drops

Hi, I have the same problem, this last patch has been quite annoying to work together with WW.

My pc is not very powerful, I work with medium and low graphics, however the game works quite well, however when using WW the problem begins.

I abuse WW, most of the time I have 25 sims in the lot at the same time thanks to the command center, I bring their partners and they become 50, I have even brought 75 and it works without problem, but now since the last patch, it does not even reach 40 sims, or less, and the game begins to slow down, a lot of lag, to the extent that if I bring more sims to the lot, it slows down terribly, and I better quit the game, or restart the game pc, it becomes impossible to play.

I tried to remove mods, put previous versions of WW, versions of mcdcenter, lower the graphics even more, and nothing works, I have come to the conclusion that it is WW or it is the last patch. I have read that this latest version has a lot of bugs (snow escape) with mods,

I just hope there is a solution soon. I think we just have to wait for them to fix bugs from the patches in Sims 4, if anyone has a similar problem, share their experience.

Cheers

definitely try removing WW to see if that makes a difference.

This is the reason EA defaults to 20 sims per lot/zone so I'd lower the max in MCCC back to 20, or less, for now.

WW runs real time updates on all sims during game so there is a lot going on in the background.

The new game update borked things and with the new graphics requirements from WW to fix them even more demand is now needed.

Lowering your other game graphics settings to medium may or may not help.

And be sure V-sync is also disabled.

Always keep at least one previous version of WW and other script mods like BMD, MCCC, and Nisa's WP in case you need to revert back later.

You should be able to get the old WW to work and change your graphics back to laptop mode and compressed textures On until a new fix is made.

I cant seem to find where the “graphic settings” are? Very very new to WW. Thanks

They are in your game settings on upper right corner menu, the one with 3 dots.

Not in WW settings.

update from my experience now...

with the 162e patch of WW it got a little worse with the FPS dropping. usually the "press ESC" way worked, to get the FPS up again.

Yesterday I installed my new graphics card and updated to WW 162f...

I have 3 Sims on my lot and the game runs a freaking 15 to 30 FPS (settings on ultra, V-Sync disabled, 4K resolution, etc) - pressing ESC to get the FPS fixed does not help anymore. Changing the video settings to low does not improve anything at all :(

I removed my mods-folder, boom, +150 FPS on "ultra settings" - put all mods back (except WW) and still +150 FPS...

put WW back and .... stuck at 15-30 FPS again :( :(

and before anybody asks... yes, my PC is more than capable of running ultra setting
so whatever @TURBODRIVER did during the last few patches, something starts breaking the performance :( not blaming him at all, maybe it's also something in the code of TS4, but nevertheless, apparently WW and TS4 don't go well together anymore on the performance side of things :(

The only other thing I had happen quite some time ago was lagging caused because my active sim had too many relationships and kids.

Was playing older game save with aging off as baby daddy with 100 kids and 100+ other friends.

Mostly stuttering and freezing for several seconds at a time.

EDIT: I should also note I don't think it had anything to do with WW at that time but more of a game issue.

I still get occasional stuttering but usually only happens when returning to Live mode from CAS, (or BB).

Then I save game and it seems to fix it.

Study your WickedInfoLog.log and notice all the WW real time updating of sims data going on during gameplay.

Might not even be graphics related for some IDK.

But I did also change my graphics cards settings to limit frame rates to 30fps max for sims as I've read that variable frame rates don't always work so well with sims.

And make sure Windows settings have graphics set to 'performance' mode with all 'power saving' disabled and 'sleep' disabled.

Just some thoughts...

Although the word "lag" is used, I believe this is all about unstable and low rendering framerate. As far as I can tell, random rendering framerate drops are common with the game, but I do not know what causes them. I tend to get them when switching between Live Mode and Build Mode, even when not having any mods installed. Sometimes it gets bad enough that restarting the game is necessary.

Still, I'm not claiming WickedWhims has nothing to do with it, there simply isn't any clear indication for me that WickedWhims is in fact involved in contributing to this issue. I cannot have this happen reliably, there is no clear indicator why it happens, and I haven't actually investigated this issue online. Having someone provide testing information that would be really helpful in understanding why this happens.

With it, I can assure you that the number of Sims or objects present in the loaded zone does not contribute to these random drops of rendering framerate. This seems to me like an internal issue in the game processing something that hinders the main update loop, lowering the rendering framerate. WickedWhims runs purely on the Python simulation side, which is separated from the main update loop that runs on C++. The main update loop can be overloaded with information coming from the Python simulation side, but I don't know of anything in particular that would actually lower framerate rather than just crash/freeze the game.

This is pretty annoying, but I get this happen quite rarely, so I didn't put too much attention to it. If certain users get it to happen more often than not, then there is some contributing factor to it.
