[SOLVED]Gray/Discolored Hands caused about Follower Mod

Hello guys and technical Pro‘s

 

Let me explain the Title.

 

For some time I installed some (12 different) follower mods in Skyrim LE and then i merged it in my Merged Followers Mod without recheck ingame.

I know that wasn’t the best idea and yeah i am long time enough in Skyrim and modding  to know that this was a stupid idea. I was only lazy.

 

No problem I am not here to discuss how i can found out what’s mod the problem caused or what how the problem is found out. This i know. 
However it is a follower ... I have verified it simple ... I deactivate the merge and the problem vanished.

 

Now let me explain what happen if the mod is active. It’s happen if I only install this follower and if i merge him.

 

At the Player character occur a texture at the hands that cause the same affect like the 

known gray face bug ... but only at the hands ... my Meshes and Textures for my female character are not overwritten from something else in the data folder of Skyrim and a very strange  thing further happen. If i install a new body textures ... like texture overlays for female hands they are not applied at the female player hands anymore. The texture for hands are all time the same ... a gray or very white colored hand.

 

This Problem occur only after install of the follower mod.

 

The follower mod himself have in meshes and texture path nothing that indicate a overwrite of the path of the female character meshes or textures so is my assumption it’s can be only something in the meshes itself or in ck armor settings  in the *.esp of the follower ... maybe with something like the <skinnaked> settings in armor (TEsVEdit) or so stuff .... that cause a problem in the esp itself.

 

My question now: have anyone recognize something else too and have knowledge about this problem and can give me some informations what I must fix in the follower.esp in ck to solve the issue or is it something in the meshes of the follower or the follower armor meshes that I can fix with nifscope and/or blender ? 

 

Maybe something can me give a hint that have knowledge about this problem or have in his recognized in his Skyrim time the same issue.

I have this not installed but I have exact the same problem and one followers that i use cause the problem but I will not really deinstall my chooses follower like the guy in this post.

 

I will more fix it by myself and use the follower further.

It looks like a problem with the textures s (troops big compared to the hands, or they are not the same as the rest of the body). With Nifskope, you should see if it shows the problem. If so, you could try replacing (all) the textures s, perhaps with the ones you use for your PG

Thanks Lestat1627 ... i will check it out ... only for info: the mod that cause the issue in my Loadorder and that i merged with the merged follower mod that i use is: Keisha Follower CBBE_UUNP With Vampire Transformation Patch https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/94338 the CBBE Version

ok its not a mesh issue its a esp issue:

Keisha overwrite the standard Skyrim texture pathes of Form ID: 0003EDE9

with her own Form ID and cause that her own included texture overwriting my standard skyrim hand textures and my Playercharacter use the textures of Keishas hands lol ...

Thanks Guys for talking i know now what i must do to solve it ... thanks for your ideas and help my issue seems be solved for me ... i can now fix it by myself :D

Exactly. ?

 

However, I think you are misinterpreting the info in the TESVEdit screenshots.

 

In the top image - what you have highlighted is a mesh (note the .nif). Keisha's hand textures are under Texture Set and are the entry second from the bottom - 04000D69

 

In the second image (Skyrim.esm) Keisha's textures are not overwriting anything, they are just pointing at the correct location. (Note the TXST in the brackets - that is Texture Set and the number is the one I gave above)

 

In the third image you are showing the correct default path for textures with nothing overwriting it.

 

In the fourth image you are showing the (I assume) correct paths for Keisha's textures.

 

If the Keisha textures were conflicting with anything then the text would not be in green.

see Screen 2 i have edited it now and now its looks like this:

 

Keisha dont overwrite anymore the NAM1 - Female Skin texture and MOD3 - Model Filename and now it works

after this edit i have the issue not more ... the gray hands are vanished and my own textures are now used:

 

in the orginal she has it overwrite ... not a great conflict only a small conflict but a conflict that caused that all time my textures for the player female character ( screen 3 ) are replaced with her textures ( screen 4 )

 

i dont think that i have misunderstand what the mod does in my loadorder :P

 

 

The issue is solved now really ... ingame are now used my hand texture pathes of FormID 0003ede9 (Screen3) and not more the texture pathes of keisha that u can see in screen 4

 

and keishas Meshes in \meshes\actors\character\Keisha Follower the femalehands_0.nif and femalehands_1.nif use in BSLightingShaderProperty in BSShaderTextureSet the path actors\character\female\ and not actors\character\Keisha Follower\

i dont know why she have a TextureSet Configuration  in the *.esp that is not used in the Meshes ... not in the body  not in the feet.nifs but only in the nakedhands  in the *.esp but not used complete ... a texture folder is present to but ... mmm suspect not used for body or feet .... i dont know whats the modauthor planning  ... all the meshes are configured for standard body pathes only the hands not in the esp but the meshes use standard pathes ... but she have a own texture folder .... see left side Torso and Feets dont override anything

i think its not so clearly in my first screenshot that Keisha overwrite in Armor Addon the NakedHands because i have taken Screenshots with the searched FormID :P maybe this Screen make it clearly what she overwride :D

Image 1. What you have highlighted is a mesh. The textures being used are in the section I have put the red rectangles on.

Image 2. This again is a mesh (femalehands.nif) the texture being used is the one I ringed in the previous image (TXST:04000D69). Nothing in this image is overwriting anything.

Image 3. This image shows the location of your default skin textures. Every female NPC gets their skin from here. Nothing is overwriting anything.

Image 4. This shows the location to Keisha's skin textures. It is a completely different location to that in the above image. Nothing is overwriting anything.

Incidentally, if you wanted to change that location you can just edit the file path manually.

Image 5. Unless you have edited it, that is not Keisha's original hand mesh. Note that her's begin with 00. It's not a good idea to mess with Form IDs when you can just type in the new path in the right hand pane.

Image 6. Once more this is a mesh not a texture.

Image 7. Nothing in this image is overwriting/conflicting with anything else. Green text means that all is okay. If, e.g., you look at the HairColourList you will probably find that all that has happened is that Keisha has added another colour to the list.

Image 8. You can edit those yourself. Not with Skyrim.esm (read only) but with esps you can drag and drop. In this example, if you wanted it in German you could drag Bronzewasserhohle over to where it say Bronze Water Cave. You cannot drag it the other way. You could also type in Berlin Opera House or whatever. The name is just what appears when you mouse over something.

Green text means it's a conflict winner - it means there is an edit to both and the one you are viewing is what will be loaded last.

FORMID: NakedHands [ARMA:00000D6C] of Skyrim.esm is the same for 00NakedHands [ARMA:00000D6C] of Kesiha Follower.esp 

 

This cause that Female World Model of Skyrim.esm MOD3 Actors\Character\Character Assets\FemaleHands_1.nif is overwritten of Kesiha Follower.esp  actors\character\Keisha Follower\femalehands_1.nif

and the NAM1 Female Skin Texture SkinHandFemale_1 [TXST:0003EDE9] is then overwritten of Keisha 00SkinHandFemaleCompanion [TXST:02000D69]

and the NAM3 Female Skin Texture Swap List is edited of a empty field to 00SkinFemaleHumanHandCompanion [FLST:02000D6C]

 

And this cause that all my NPC´s and my Playercharacter use Keishas Hand Meshes of data\texture\actors\character\Keisha Follower\ and her Textures of the path data\meshes\actors\character\Keisha Follower\ and this cause then in my game the issue that a discoloration and/or the gray hands are to shown .

 

I have fixed this now in CK
