Hello,

 

I looked on a few Forums, but perhaps I missed the post?

 

Is there a overview or guide for our Profile Page?

 

I wanted to find what the SIZE is for the "Cover Photo"

 

My Cover Photo (Banner) is TALLER than most and would like to shrink it down, but don't know size (width x height).

When I try to adjust via "reposition photo" it simply snaps back to the previous position.

If I make it small (guess at size) it then leave a gap (above or below).

If you place a photo for a cover photo and it covers part of your picture, the entire picture can be accessed at any time by simply clicking on it. This will cause the page to rearrange itself. Try it by going to my profile and clicking on the picture of my character and the dragon Paarthurnax. The entire thing will open up for you.

 

I say this because that is much simpler than trying to get your picture to the exact size.

ok, I tried it on your Profile and I see what you mean about the 'size' when you click on it. Didn't realize that until you mentioned it.

 

I am still wondering how some members have a smaller banner (in default view) before you click on it.

 

anyways, thanks for you help - guess it is not that important, just wanted to adjust (resize) but unable when I don't know the default size.

UPDATE: I just deleted the photo (banner) - the default (no image) is smaller, I just won't place one...

Mine is a GIF when you click to upload a cover picture it states. Accepted file types gif, jpeg, jpe, jpg, png · Max file size 0.78MB

So as long as the file is at or below the max size it'll be fine. You could just copy someones picture that you have seen and then put it into something like paint-net to see what width and height of their picture is set at and then try adjusting yours to the size they are using. The bigger the width and height the bigger the file size.

(Just surprised that there is not a size indicated (i.e. 1000pxWidth X  200pxHeight) other than file size. If I CROP to a size then place, if its NOT tall enough (height) when saved, it then puts a grey bar along bottom (when idle, not when click on like you mentioned). If I CROP to a larger Height, then the overall size of the banner is bigger than the DEFAULT size of the banner when not using any - if that makes sense? For example, the larger size (H x W) when placed, repositioned, it then has no action (does not enlarge) when clicked on - it is already in the LARGER state, only my Avatar repositions. Where as in your Profile, when I click on your photo, it enlarges like you indicated)

 

 

anyways, its not that important, I am just not going to place one at all. I saw some in the default size but a different color (hmmm) dont know CSS...moving on - and THANKS AGAIN!
