I have Enable mods/scripts in the Options menu. I have include CC under advanced in the gallery. I have both the mods in the mod folder and the tray items in the tray folder, but my downloaded sims aren't showing up in my gallery.

Please Help! :(

the specific item in question is Bryanna Harris

Are you looking in your Library Menu instead of the Gallery Menu?

Sorry I know it's kind of a dumb question to ask.

Most downloaded custom sims won't show up in the Gallery unless they were uploaded by someone else first to be shared with everyone.

When you install downloaded sims into your Tray folder it's no different than making a new sim in CAS and saving to the Gallery afterwards.

But it's actually your Library they get saved to.

Yes. I am looking in the Library tab.

I tried both names in the search bar and meticulously scrolled down library page twice and did not see her

Strange I've never had that problem before.

Wonder if you tried downloading and trying a different sim might work.

At least that would prove if it's just that particular sim or all of the cc sims.

Second method is using manage households and editing your active sim in CAS and try adding another sim to your household.

Only using the import from gallery menu instead of making a new sim from scratch.

Probably won't make any difference though if something else is going on.

Can you Download the sim in question to see if it works for you? In the trays folder do I put ALL the files into Tray or just the household binary?

pkg files go in the mods folder the rest go in the tray folder....

All the individual files with the strange numbers get copied into the TS4/tray folder and there are several.

But don't just copy the downloaded Tray folder into the TS4/Tray folder or the game can't read them.

I prefer to copy the cc mods (.package) included with cc sims into a separate folder named after the creator or name of the sim just for testing.

Easier to find later if I decide to delete that sim and included cc later on.

Or if I like the cc content and want to keep it....

I just copy each cc package file by category into makeup, clothing, hairstyles, etc., to try and prevent adding duplicates of the same content.

Duplicates will then just overwrite the other copy, but I do like to keep track of the file size and date in case one of them is newer I will usually keep/use that one instead.

So I should go and take out all the tray items for this particular sim in a 1 folder fashion the same way stuff in the Mods folder works? Where it's still read if its 1 folder deep?

All the downloaded tray files are just copied and dropped into The Sims 4/Tray folder alone without using or adding any other sub folders.

If you look inside the sims 4 tray folder you won't see any other sub folders but only loose files installed.

This is the way it should be.

Totally different than .package mods or script files are stored and read.

Script Mods can only be 1 folder deep in the TS4 Mods folder.

Package Mods or files can use more than 1 folder deep.

Example:

Mods/Hairstyles/Female

                             /Male

                             /Children

Many script mods will have one script and one or more package files used.

In this case they all should be copied into one folder.

Like Wicked Whims...

The Sims 4/Mods/WickedWhimsMod/ (2 files only, 1 script and 1 package)

And

The Sims 4/Mods/Wicked Animations/ (all your animation (package) files go here)

I downloaded 2 different sims from there and they both work fine.

How did you uninstall that sim?
