Can't save, manage worlds or go into build mode

The build mode and manage worlds icons are greyed out and I can't save the game at all.

Have you already tried waiting a few minutes? When the game loads a lot, it disables those features temporarily, and sometimes (maybe due to a couple of new files in your Mods folder or because there are already a bunch of Sims on the lot when you arrive) that loading process takes a bit longer.

 

Other things you could try:

 - Disable mods in the game settings, then restart the game and load into any household. Don't overwrite your saved game, as mod-related data will be lost.

 - Test your mods to find any broken or outdated files. There's plenty of guides on how to do the 50/50 method and similar approaches, but the short version is "divide and conquer, working mods stay, and whenever there's an issue, the last added files go out and the other half of what was left goes in".

 - Repair your game files via Origin/Steam. If it's an issue with the game itself, it will be fixed that way.

UICheats mod can also cause this so remove it and find the latest update.
