I'm sure you dont' have to actually be the race to wear the armor it's just probably just an esm requirement. I probably shouldn't be taling though I only have like 70 esp/esm right now

If it's just that the vendor is his custom race, you can easily go into the CK and change the race of the vendor. If the .esm dependency is an issue, you can use Wrye Bash to edit the master list and remove it as a dependency. You may have to change it to an .esp instead. I haven't done that since Oblivion, so I'm not sure what is supported currently for Skyrim.

For facial expressions there is a mood type mod and there is also puppetmaster.

If you do I heard that awhile back that when hearthfire was introduced it screwed up the breezehome because it added something or broken the original so entering it would cause a ctd.
