moddingnoob Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I just wanted to ask: Are we all just going to make a bunch of mods, or are we going to build a framework like with Fallout NV and Oblivion. There's a bunch of mods. They're really cool. I can only use one. Cause they're not compatible with each other. I'm just wondering if we're gonna bring all the mods together.
Ashal Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Ideally there certainly would be a standout framework for everybody to use, like sexout or lovers with pk. There just hasn't been one to take up that mantle yet. There are two mods currently that may go that route, sexis and sex addict.SexiS by cmod was the most promising to become the standard framework. It's still in an alpha state though and the author is MIA, so it's future is uncertain. If he truly has abandoned it, hopefully somebody picks up the reins on it from where he left off, we won't know though until he shows up to say so one way or the other, or enough time has passed to safely assume it's abandoned.SexAddict by WaxenFigure is based off the Japanese mod MiniLoversAlternative, though heavily modified. So I'm not sure how comfortable WaxenFigure is with turning it into a framework nor even how capable MLA as a core is of becoming that.
kurisu7885 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Sexis definitely was, or hopefully is intended to be a framework. But yeah, I haven't seen an update from the author in a while.
Guest Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Sexis definitely was, or hopefully is intended to be a framework. But yeah, I haven't seen an update from the author in a while. Well it is designed to allow everyone to easily make a plugin for SexiS so as long as the core is stable it doesn't necessarily need an update.

Fair enough, but Skyrim updates might make it need updates.
Night~Sky Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 The hope is definitely that SexiS becomes the standard framework, and I'd be amazed if it didn't honestly. While plenty of people are still loyal to MLA-derived mods like SexAddicts, SexiS has the greater combination of flexibility, stability, and reliability. It still needs some work of course, and with cmod currently MIA that's a bit of a dubious prospect, but people are actively making animations and extensions to SexiS (including the first properly "functional"/animated beasty action mod for Skyrim, courtesy of EternalBlack), and in its current state, it already possesses an at least basic stage of LPK's range: The core itself is certainly capable; Cupid allows for "sex on demand"/easy in-game animation testing; Defeated offers the rape functionality, it just needs refining/expanding; LoversComfort offers the more immersive dialogue/situational sex scene triggering, it just needs refinement and expansion; BeastInteractions, when it is functional and implemented, will provide the long-missing beasty action aspects for those so inclined; Just like Lovers/LPK before it, it just comes down to what people make in the form of additions/expansions to it. cmod coming back and refining/updating the core would definitely be a good thing, but it's far from impossible for someone else to update it instead (in fact, the current version of LC already partially updates the pre-existing version of the core so it can work).
aravis7 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 In fact if someone can update the core we would need to: _add the anims in the arrok's thread as new anims (that should be the most easy and I don't think Cmod would disagree even if he come back) _if possible add a system for arrok's foreplay anims (before the other anims, like LPK extender for oblivion), and a system for asx masturbation anims since they are open source now That should be more difficult, but only the first point would be very nice ; ) (since the second can be made by another moder without updating the core).
moddingnoob Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 What does the code for this stuff look like? Rather obviously, I"m a programming n00b, but I might be able to help if someone was willing to walk me through. Unfortunately though, I don't have a lot of time, so I couldn't take control of it.
