OK, so my biggest question regarding how we're gonna handle models here is...how are we gonna distribute the mods used for the models? Seeing as all of the MG data is presently in limbo, we can't link to the mod themselves. Do we just throw the mods in the rar file with the model data?

Good point, most people seem like they are handling getting old mods through multiple posted Mega Archives.  I think best bet is to list in the details What Mods are required for that model and than to package it in a zip, rar, or 7zip Archive.  Basically:

Addons (Provide all required Addons for body and face)

Activemod (Provide Customizable Skin (Exported) and or Skinfolder)

Models Folder (Provide Body, Face, Makeup save files or Model Save File)

That's just how I would do that but everyone is different, I probably wouldn't provide clothes but its all preference.  If I did provide clothes I would put it all in a single folder called [CLOTHES] Model Name so it is an simple drop for someone adding it.

Ok, as a model creator (AbstractD) this is a discussion I'm very interested in for sure.

My question is: is it even worth it to take the effort to reupload a bunch of models here?

As rightfully pointed out, mods used could potentially be a big problem, as we will most likely not be able to provide people with the requirements for our own uploads on this platform anytime soon. If we do decide to go the "put all required files in the folder" route downloads are going to get kinda heavy.

I don't know, maybe we are just better off waiting until some sort of solid community is established? Of course then the question becomes can we even do it here?

It was one of the first things I noticed that, while pretty to look at, this site doesn't offer much in the way of organization. One endlessly scrolling page of addons doesn't seem like a plan to me. But is it even possible to sort things the way they were on MG? Wouldn't it require a round-the-clock librarian to keep things from degenerating into total chaos? And is it even worth the trouble, with Klub Exile being the higher priority?

At any rate, I think you need to build your own servers to handle this content. You're never going to be able to do what you want on any of these commercial hosting deals, where you have no administrator access, and you have to play by the house rules.

I do have a question myself, is there a way to totaly erase some, most or all the base models to make room for those we customized ourself or downloaded? Cause it sometimes a pain to scroll over so much models you will probably never use to see that a downloaded one will not appear for lack of room in the list :/

 thanks
