Toxic.S.Kamasami Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Hi , I'm using nexus mod manager to install mod , in 2 previous days I was struggling with the problem I've never encountered before , the story is I'm using demoniac texture as a main texture for my skin a long long time ago until now I'm still using them , after reinstall the game to refresh all of my things I forget to install DEMONIAC after CBBE and I have met the very very bad result , I install DEMONIAC after all mods and when I turn on my bodyslide to build outfits the DEMONIAC skin wasnt show up instead that it show up a very odd skin from the UNKNOWN mod that I've discovered later is from BIJIN texture , those file play as replace female skin texture in texture/female file , I was try to re-install , uninstall all of them , but NOT WORK the BIJIN skin is just there like...joking on me , and the NMM didnt even pop-up the messenge for me to OVERWRITE the BIJIN with DEMONIAC , I cant do anything but re-install whole mod manager and the game now as a result . What is happening and it didnt happen before , the DEMONIAC still being sometime re-install by me and works fine until now , it didnt work , I'm too confusing with both NMM and those mod , can someone give me a suggest to counter this in future ? why NMM didnt show up an option for me that I can overwrite female.dds ? why in past it work but now it wont ? did I miss something during the NMM update ? and when I use other texture skin mod like fair skin complexion ALL WORKS FINE and the skin has been replace by fair skin texture , wth ? but why demoniac dont ? , I've try oldrim DEMONIAC to test that if my SE version doesnt work right , because this mod is texture only so it's not the problem when using on SE and it's not work too..., the fomod menu still pop-up for me to choice mod options but nothing change in bodyslide , it's still bijin skin (I'm really stressed up with this problem and really need a good result I'm planning to reinstall anything and install cbbe with demoniac FIRST then check em in bodyslide [I'm sure this will 100% work because these are 2 first file] and after that I will install bijin then check for the result and I'm scare this thing will happen [what if bijin overwrite DEMONIAC file ? what can I do to solve this situation , I'm sitting on a fire now and in the worst case I will have to use 2018 NMM version to test if it solve the problem] please help )
Dorabella Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 The simplest thing would be: Skyrim data folder / textures / actors / character / female , and remove the textures, then reinstall Demoniac . The problem should be solved
donttouchmethere Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Wow, that's one confusing text. Why do you install Bjin texture at all. Is it from AIO-P? How do you know it's Bjin skin in case you didn't install Bjin. Does Demoniac texture work ingame, but not in Bodyslide? If so, isn't it enough if it works ingame? Keep in mind: If a mod has a FOMOD, NMM will remember your last install settings. Means if you only reinstall the mod over and over again it will always apply the same FOMOD settings, thus will always install the same files. To prevent that you would need to completely uninstall the FOMOD mod and than install it again to make NMM install new files. If you reinstall mods with NMM it will always remember the last overwrites. To choose new overwrites uninstall the mod and install it again to have new override choices. I hope you didn't forget a manual install you made in the past ^^ Maybe something of my wild suggestions help ?

I hope you didn't forget a manual install you made in the past ^^ Maybe something of my wild suggestions help ? -demoniac manual install is a truly maze and I'm not dare to do that , just download the mod and see those files you will lost for sure -and I'm used to COMPLETELY WIPE OUT 5 bijins mod include demoniac then install only demoniac again but not work , the bijin texture still stuck in there -demoniac texture doesnt work ingame as it's already prove me on bodyslide - AIO bijin doesnt have texture it's ESP and bla bla only , and all the mod I installed before I install demoniac has bijin in there as I said demoniac is the last and I know bijin because this is the only file that have texture inside and the memory between the texture in texture/female and the texture in bijin mod are completely match , and for sure I was opening the file to see and it's 100% from bijin. FINALLY : I've solved the problem by completely uninstall the game and nexus then install both again . After that I realize NMM for some reason not overwrite the old skin texture with new texture in demoniac , the solution is fresh install everything then install CBBE + demoniac FIRST then do whatever you want so that the texture doesnt messed up together my lesson is NEVER FORGET TO INSTALL CORE SKIN TEXTURE FIRST IN NMM .

That's Demoniac in your case now. If you want to overwrite something that is installed already in NMM you have to choose: "yes" (single file overwrite) or "yes to all" (all files of any mod get overwritten) or "yes to mod" (only files from one mod get overwritten) Depending on your NMM version it's better to upgrade: versions > 0.65 work versions around 0.70 had issues, if you use one of those better upgrade to version > 0.71+ If you use bodyslide early on you will have to install at least one skin texture, because it doesn't come with one. NMM is works well if a file got only overwritten once for overwrite management. But as soon as you overwrite a file/mod multiple times there is no gurantee anymore that NMM works correctly and it's better to uninstall the mods highest in the overwrite hierarchy first before changing the lower layers of overwrites.

Yes , normally nexus will tell you what you want to overwrite if the mod you are installing have something similar to the mod that you already install before and now lies in your data folder ( normally a board will pop-up with the content like : this xxx file are already installed by mod xxx do you want to overwrite it [ YES / NO ] ) but NO , in my case , although there are the same content in the game but it's just ignore it and silence and didnt ask me ANYTHING , it give me NO choice to overwrite it or not , it just DIDNT POP-UP any choice for me . Luckily I'm able to fix it now.
