HI all, I'm making a custom voiced draugr follower (which i plan on releasing when i get done), and i'm having trouble getting it to work with mage robes. I'm not very proficient with nifscope, and i'm basically trying to get my follower to wear the blue hooded robes. I read somewhere that draugr don't use actual armor, and it's instead part of their skin, but i have no idea how to make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my brain is basically fried trying to do this. Thanks!

humans and draugrs don't use the same skeleton, so it's going to take more than nifscope to make that.

So how would i go about it then? I don't think i'm currently able to make a completely new armor yet. I assume that would be the only option though since there aren't any draugr specific outfits?

Draugr can wear anything as long as the Races window in the armor object allow for draugr.  Skeletons can wear black mage hoods.  Potema can wear Yarl clothes and a circlet, etc.  Start with a base nude draugr and use that.  It will wear whatever you assign it as long as the race is allowed for the armor object.

Make a new mage robes object and add the Draugr race.

"Draugr can wear anything as long as the Races window in the armor object allow for draugr."  Read what I posted and use little common sense.  Draugr wouldn't be able to use Wisp Mother, Dragon Priest or Vampire Lord armor either...but then neither could any other race unless the skeleton supports it.  And yes something like studded hide would work but it would look like hammered dog shit.  Vanilla black mage robes will work on base game draugr.  I know that for a fact since I've done it.  The legs and the arms clip through but they do indeed WORK.

Because you're trying to edit a second tier object that cannot be edited.  See where it says TemplateClothesMage?  You need to trace back to the base object, make a copy of it and do your changes to that.  There are tutorials for this, btw.

I'm fairly new to creation kit so most of that sounded like french to me lol. but i did find monk robes that i was able to duplicate and change the race on. It still doesn't work though, even after changing it. I have tried looking at tutorial videos but most of them go FAR too quickly with little to no explanation as to what is actually happening. Or maybe i'm just dumb and can't understand it. In either case i was hoping for more of a step by step kind of help where someone could fully explain the problem as well as the way to fix it. Would it be a better idea to make a post under the mod requests and have someone more skilled than me work it out? I was unsure of going that route originally as i do intend to upload my follower once it's finished so idk how that would work with permissions and such.

You're so busy being 'right' you can't be bothered to read the context of my posts.  Your red text is rehash of what I said. Common problem on this forum.

Any energy I had to help you got sucked out by a 'contributor'.  Since they want to flex they're the ones who need to help you.  Sorry.

Well, thank you anyways. I really do appreciate the attempt. I suppose i'll try making a post on the mod requests then and hopefully someone will be able to work it out.
