Cyndi Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I almost always click manual install just to check to see if there is more then one version any updates bug fixes and so forth then click the download with NMM unless it's a manual download. I reverted my version of NMM back to the version before they broke fnis and have left it there. NMM never "broke" FNIS. Just had to click off "don't extract readme files." It's in the settings. It was on by default and most people didn't check for it even though it was stated to be added in the update notes. If I hadn't read that on the Fnis page I wouldn't have known * looks sheepish >.<" * I had just done a complete re-install from windows up *unrelated Laptop peed the carpet incident* But really other than that I have never had any problems with nmm, except one.... and that is just that it seems to fail every time I use it for installing skeletons regardless of type (vl/ww/pc/monster etc). So those I always do manually.
sora3 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I still don't get why people are so insistent on using easy to do packages that might (and I say possibly) screw up during the download? Is it that hard to actually reinstall if necessary? You can probably scoff and go 'it's convenient to have it instead of having to redownload it again.' Bullshit if you actually have a backup nearby. That's why every update, I nuke my install to get the latest updates, backup and then install back my mods manually. The reason why I'm chucking this out here is because more and more often than not, the problem to mods having problems seem to lie with the underlying code of NMM, user mistakes and as well network issues.

I don't need all these bells and whistles they keep cramming into it.
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Barely even use NMM to download anything anyways. I stick with manual and then just use NMM to list, sort, and move mods around. That's all I ever used it for...
medic975 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I love the idea of NMM. Love being able to click the green dl button and just go and authorize it and if I decide I don't want that mod that it will delete all traces for me. However, I've experienced a lot of problems with NMM. Lately it's been double installing every mod I put in it. I prefer manual installation. I just hate the scavenger hunt when I want to remove something.
