Torch out of Sight

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE MY WORK IN PAID MODS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT IT IS
This is a small replacer for 1st person torch animations.

All it does is, it moves the torch a bit to the side, so it doesn't block half of your screen and you can actually see in front of you.

Also, the flame shouldn't blind you anymore, since that's completely off-screen. I think it should be now.

WHAT IT ISN'T
It doesn't affect 3rd person animations - your char will hold the torch like he always did.

It doesn't affect the torch items - their weight, price, availability and so on.

It doesn't affect the lighting effect - the light isn't stronger or weaker, the color is unchanged and so on.

All of the above means, you can safely mix my mod with other torch mods and there should be no conflicts, as long as the other mods don't touch the 1st person animations.

Not my idea, there are tons of mods that do the same thing. Except all of them do it for 3rd person too, and the torch is either held at a weird angle or goes through ceiling in certain areas... Looked creepy, so I made it just for 1st person.

I like it man !!!

I am using your mod alongside with "hold your torch higher" for the 3rd person view and just notice (using my sharp mind) that your mod holds the torch lower than that mod, it makes sense right? Haha. It is something that can be done to solve this?

Thanks for share !!!!!

Yeah, things can be done to solve this (like editing the entire KFX data set for 1st person), but it's not worth the effort.

Your 1st person camera is usually not positioned on the eyes level (it's positioned at height 1.0000 and most races have heights different than that).

Considering that, even if I made the KFX to be exactly the same as 3rd person positioning (and it can't be copied, you have recreate the positioning from scratch), most players wouldn't even see it as the same, due to camera positioning being nowhere near the actual eye level.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, except I'm on LE :/ , can I use it on oldrim or do you still have by chance the wip animations before exporting to SE @Erundil ? I was looking how to backconvert from SE but it seems I need so many tools.

It's not a port of anything from LE. There is no LE version I could possibly give you.

You just gotta find an LE mod that does the same, sorry to disappoint.

Thank you for your answer. While looking how to backport, I did find a guide how to setup and create SE animations, it did mention first creating the animation in LE format and then porting it. Reason why I assumed maybe you had those. Guess the guide is outdated.
