Space Haven

Space Haven is a starship management game where you can where can design and build your own starship, which your crew will use to boldly go and  get shot apart by space pirates.

Your crew has wants and needs, and they have their own personalities and form relationships - just like Rimworld or The Sims.

 

And it's also got some pretty interesting mechanics, aside from the inter-crew relationships, that could make it interesting as a platform for future adult modding.

 

Like you can board a pirate ship (or they can board yours), and after a small arms fire fight members of your crew or theirs will lose their nerve and surrender, and be captured and brought to their ship.

 

There's also aliens, who will attempt to incapacitate your crew so they can cocoon them and drag them back their lair, for a tasty snack for their young

 

So a lot of the base mechanics for an adult game are there (relationships, surrendering, capturing), just needs some enterprising individuals to mod some smut into it.

The potential for this one is immense.
And I've seen quite some mods on the Nexus already but nothing lewd as of yet.
Keeping my hopes up since I can't code nor art for shit... ?

Though with that graphic i am not sure if you see anything suggestive. But its a new game, so who knows.

No workshop, and only minor (meaning value altering) mods and QoL in Nexus, nothing lewd, and no modding tools

There's a bikini mod on nexus now, but that's about the extent of the loodness... plus, it's an override mod, not additional clothing options.  So prolly not the source of that animation from a few years ago.

this game looks pretty great as is, I may have to pick it up ASAP just because.

It also looks like the developers are still working on it, though it's a small team of 3. they just released beta 2 at the beginning of December last year. Seems they've completed a lot of the goals they've laid out, though mod tools is not one of the completed items.

looks like robots can put humans in these preservation tanks or whatever they call them, which seems similar to the capture mechanic involving the aliens. hopefully there's excitement towards lewd mods for this once modding tools are released but I wouldn't expect that until release, whenever that ends up being.

Dunno, since the first popular mod will just fix the insanity that is still the game's electrical system minigame back to the original, further highlighting how the devs wasted like 2 years shooting themselves in the foot over it.  Never a good sign when you need to fix your fix...

Fact: Game development is progressing towards 1.0 this year. It's been in EA for quite a long time, so this is good news.

Fact: Devs have mentioned implementing the ability to mod the game, though they also seem to be rather resistant to putting any effort into the same, especially with the unofficial mod loader being available.

Speculation: I imagine that the devs don't have any serious intention on implementing modding tools before the 1.0 release. I have a strong feeling they also don't intend on it shortly after the release either. Best efforts to modding the game will probably come from supporting the unofficial mod loader.
