Nude vs Clothed Measurements Mismatch

Recommended Posts

Friends...

Hi.  I am new to modding.  I have what I think is a simple question, but cannot seem to find a simple answer.  Your help would be appreciated.

The scenario:  I used CBBE to make my women curvy.  Similarly, I used another mod to make the NPCs curvy.  The problem is that the measurements of the NPC change between clothed and nude.  When clothed, the NPCs are voluptuous, when nude, they are curvy but not "voluptuous" anymore.

The question: How do I make it so that the clothed "measurements" match those of the the nude "measurements"?

A step by step guide would be appreciated.  (Indeed, a modder that is willing to instruct would have an avid student in me.  I want to recreate some not lore friendly dungeons from old school DnD like Tomb of Horrors.)

Thanks in advance!

Well you will always have a problem with body variations if you do not use BodySlide and Outfit studio.

Everything you see from the top of the ankles to the wrists to the base of the neck on your naked body is in slot 32. When you put on a slot 32 outfit that body is replaced with the outfit, that also has its own body.

Example: on the right is the naked slot 32 and on the right is the nordic bikini top

They both have a body, if the nordic top didn't have a body the bra would be floating in empty air.

The only way to make sure those body's are the same shape is to use Bodyslide and outfit studio and build them against the same preset.

Corsayr... Thanks.  What do you mean "slot 32"?

Also, do you know how to take a preset in Bodyslide and apply it to an NPC?  ALL NPCs?

Slot 32 is your normal Body slot. (So the chestpiece in game).
If you build an outfit in bodyslide all female character's bodies who will wear that outfit (doesn't matter if they're PC or NPC) will change to match how you've built it.

As for a step by step tutorial:
You're gonna need: Bodyslide, a body mod (like CBBE) and an armour mod that works with both of those (just about all armour mods on the nexus and this site will work with Bodyslide so no worries). And all the requirements of these mods (like XPMSE for CBBE).
I take it you'll want to see your body changes on vanilla outfits so you're also gonna need a mod that replaces vanilla armours with bodyslidable ones. (I believe this is included in Bodyslide or CBBE as an option when you're installing it, but there are also plenty Remodeled armour mods which will also work fine.

Launch Bodyslide
In the top left drop-down menu you can choose which outfit you're editing, underneath it is a drop-down menu with presets. Choose your preset, or alternatively create your own using the sliders. In the bottem center you can click preview to see how it would look in game. (if you're planning on creating your own preset it's probably easiest to select your base CBBE body top drop-down menu)
You can tick "build morphs" (this will allow you to morph your characters body in game while in the character creation if you're using a mod like Racemenu, if it isn't ticked then those changes will be invisible on every item you've built while this wasn't ticked)

And finally you can click Batch Build (this will build all the outfits in that drop down list). First it will give a pop up which of the items on the list you want to build. Just choose all of them
Then it can give another pop up if 2 outfits in that list edit the same in game armour. And you can choose for each of those options which one you want to build.

The big build bottem in the center bottom will build the item which you selected. This way you can make your way manually through the list, but if you batch build, the program will do it for you.

After you've finished batch-building, you're done. Just close the program and the next time you start your game it should be changed. (the save and save as buttons are for creating custom presets ;) )

Thank you so much.  I am gonna try this out ASAP.  (Wifey and kids permitting...  LOLZ)  I will RSVP my results.

Ok...  So, how do I get all the vanilla NPCs to have the nude body shape and their clothes match?  I still don't understand how it all goes together.  I can see and access the 2 drop down menus in the top left of BS.  (Outfit/Body and Preset.)  How do they work together to create what I am trying to do?  It is confusing.

You do have more information on Calentines page on Nexus.

  1. You need a mod to provide Bodyslide files for the vanilla outfits (there are the usual skimpy replacers, CBBE comes with support for vanilla items). For any outfit added by mod, you want to have its bodyslide files too.
  2. Once you have bodyslide files for all the outfits in game (vanilla+mods) you'll need to pick a preset (example CBBE Curvy).
  3. Then press Batch build
    1. You'll get a list with all possible outfits to build, you should build all of them so leave everything enabled.
    2. After that, if any set is repeated you'll see a second list and you'll have to pick between the repeated sets (example CBBE comes with different naked bodies, so you'll need to pick between CBBE Body, CBBE Body Physics, etc. same for some outfits that might have a normal version and a physics version). Pick based on preference/other mods you have installed.
  4. Wait for the batch building process to finish, now every outfit you built should fit the same preset you selected in step 2.
  • You might want to enable "Build Morphs" before pressing batch build as some mods use or require these morhps.
  • You should have no filters applied before (batch) building anything (group filter and outfit filters in the top-right part of the Bodyslide interface should be empty).
  • This procedure should cover both player character and all NPCs, but some custom races, followers or other mods might alter the default file path and these won't use the files generated by Bodyslide (usually these NPCs have a unique body).

Hi Everybody!

Thank you so much.  The bulleted list was particularly helpful.  (Thanks "Don't"!)

Now, my difficulties are more refined.  For instance... How do you target a specific NPC?  I had little trouble turning Cicero into a female (easy!) but she doesn't have the stats of the other NPCs.  Why?

I also would like to start towards dungeon building.  Any initial thoughts?  (Should I make a separate thread?)

Thanks!
