Basicly, i want to change mesh used by LoTD visage set for something of my liking (probably Artorias set of DS remastered pack).

Is it possible with just TES5Edit, or do i need Creation kit for it? CK if a fickle creature, and while sometimes it decides to work, more often than not it just freezes on me.

Probably going to need someone that knows what you're talking about (I'm guessing armour and that DS pack is armour ported from Dark Souls)

but swapping meshes can be done with xEdit (or CK but CK would likely take longer to do and certainly longer to load it up) or you can just rename and replace meshes.

Either way, back up what you are changing, either making copies of the original meshes or of the esp if you edit that, just to make it quicker to undo any changes in case things don't work out.

I believe the source mesh should be more or less irrelevant.

Im more interested in the process itself. what records should be changed (world model, armature-modl, anything else?), how to get records from one mod to show up when editing another , as TES5Edit context select allows to pick records from itself or its masters, but not another ESP loaded alongside it. Stuff like that.

You change the nifs / meshes in the Armor Addon.
You can also change the world / ground model, but rather cosmetically, as it is only displayed in the menu, or if the things are on the floor.
In the Armor Addon and Armor you have to check whether the slots match the slots in the Nif.
