The gameplay is spot on and reminds me so much of Resident Evil 4 one of my all time favs. It looks brilliant and I can't wait to see more. Right now I'm just going around hunting and foraging to gain exp so I can be a badass from the get go. Is anyone else playing it and if so what are your thoughts on it?

I have all the other games in the series so I MUST buy this one to complete the series!! I thought the game was mission to mission or is it open world as well? DAMN IT MAN DO A REVIEW!!!!

Well I did't enjoyed previous one, they were like "meh" for me but I love this one. Espesly, how they led Lara, now you can actually have chance to get to know her. As for game itself, it is easy, but still I love it. I would recommend it to any of my freainds.
Guest flingingfeces Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Well as far as I am I hate to give a full review on it, but here's what I think of it so far and some details about the game. The game isn't missioned based and you can travel the world freely or quick travel from check points in the forms of camp sites. This is also where you upgrade your weapons as well as use experience points to gain new abilities in hunting, fighting and weapon use. It's all put together with a simple to use interface. While you're at the camps Lara will talk about the story so far or just whats going on in her head and it really adds to the already awesome atmosphere of the game. Speaking of atmosphere from what I've seen the graphics are breathtaking. The little details you find in every corner and in the characters just bring them to life. This is by far the best looking Tomb Raider game I've seen if not the best third person action game I've seen. If Gears of War, RE4 and Uncharted had a baby. As far as gameplay it's almost identical to RE4, but with so much more. Being able to upgrade melee, weapon and stealth kills is pure awesomeness. There are a fair amount of qte's in the game, but they never seem to get in the way or show up so often it takes away from the experience. Talking about experience this the first game since back in the days of Seph killing Aerith that I've actually been moved by what happens to the character in the game. You really feel bad for her because she is always getting the raw end of things, but doing her best to save her friends. The last thing I'd say is the AI in the game is some of the best I've seen. I'm playing it on normal and even then it's still hard as hell. I've died so many times from enemies flanking me or being busted out of cover from a molotov. They really get up in your face too and that's where all those melee upgrades come in handy. While most of the enemies are humans they come in all forms from snipers to brutes to suicide bombers. It's not redundant.

If they detect you they will know your exact postion until they die. They shoot at you from weird postions (exemple they want to hit you thro 4 solid walls). I wish that they had some awernes states like in MGS soild or any other "stealth" game.

I myself also made some simple eye color mods for Lara and am moving on to hair although it is all little complicated with all the texture swapping this game does. Veta Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 So I decided to buy it ( wont be eating well this month ) the tress fx is killing my cpu , I can run the game on high settings yet with tress fx on I can barely run it on low . The game itself is okay but lots of cut-scenes .
woodenstick Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I have trouble concentrating on playing the game cause Lara is so incredibly hot, keep getting killed cause I'm ogling her body (DAMN YOU 3rd PERSON VIEW!). Anyways game is really good, but I would really like combat to be a bit harder, playing hard mode and I rarely get killed... Also more puzzles would be nice, feeling a bit too much like a regular cover shooter.

I have been playing adventures with Lara since i vas a child and i got to say this just keeps getting better and better At first i didnt like the idea of turning an adventure game into a survival horror, for that we got Silent Hill and Resident Evil which are consolidated as "THE" horror games But i got to say there was something so unbelievable fucking amazing about the way the horror allows us to know a more human Lara Im a person of exquisit tastes, so im rarely atracted to the type of sex symbol Lara was in the first games, you know, with abnormal proportions between her hip and waist, not to mention her breasts, her kind of aggressive face and personality, and all the stuff that made her less human and more like an aggresive-sex-looking-killing-machine, im more attracted to beauty than boobs per-se So to tell you the truth i became a fan of the first games because of the adventures, the locations, the story, and truly because of the game itself But now everything we knew has changed. She finally looks human (and insanely pretty), not only in graphics, but she now is a character you can truly empathize with, she shurely is more vulnerable, more femenine, but she can still kick ass, and that combination with a touch of humanity is the best thing that could have happened to her as a fictional character. Though i still dissaprove the insane amount of punishment they inflicted on poor Lara, there were moments in the game where i was literally screaming to my screen "please for god's sake stop hitting her!!" (on one of the several plane chashes) Another reason why i liked it was because of the memories. Did anyone ever play TR2? cause there were these green giant stone guardians in the final levels, that were made of green stone, probably jade but when activated, they came to life doing these growls and inmediatly started to move faster tan you with two heavy spears of at least 3 meters long doing massive amounts of damage... in that time that was enough to scare the crap out of anyone So now we get to fight the Oni, wich are from japanese culture but bare significant resemblance tho these other guys and the effect was pretty well achieved, i mean, when you meet one for the first time, you really DO want to get the fuck outta there before it catches you In resume, definetly one of the best games of the series ever Sorry the long post and sorry for the spoilers... if anyone can consider this "spoilers" cause im not really saying anything you could not see coming for yourself... and i just finished it so its kind of my way of giving a review

Sadly i only know things about modding Oblivion, going to Skyrim would be a lot of pain since i would have to start collecting mods and learning everything from scratch and i get lazy just to think about it But ive heard you can import/export models and textures from some Tomb Raider Games with that thing and i would love to be able to have my Oblivion character use some of the clothing pieces of the abnormally large wardrobe Lara has had all over the years, hell maybe even making a character that looks like her so she could model them
