RogueMage Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 It's really a mess when somebody tries to figure out which plugins are the latest. They have no version numbers and sometimes show up in the middle of some posts and esps with same fielnames show up in other threads again. How shall anybody know if he got the right version of the plugin? Please organize this a little. Please put the esps in a zip and include a versionnumber in the file name or somenthing like this.
iron_jack Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This thread has a list of all currently-available plugins, along with the update dates. It's possible that others come into a project midway and/or upload their own tweaked versions, but that's just the nature of the beast. With the list above you should be able to determine what the latest "official" version is, at any rate.

But I am still not sure if I have to take the file at the beginning of a thread or the first one I can find beginning from the last post?
iron_jack Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Usually go with the one in the OP, I'd say. Loogie always updates the Tryouts in the OP almost as soon as a new version drops, for instance. Things will likely stabilize after a while. Bear in mind that UDLR only fairly recently created the Sexout framework, and as such everyone is scrambling to put together plugins for it as fast as they can. Most plugins end up being updated a couple of times a week, some as often as every day. So organization is going to be a little wild until everything stabilizes a bit. To determine the most recent revision, look at the last time the OP of the thread was edited, and look at the first revision you find working backwards, and compare the timestamps. It's a little extra work on the end-user, and generally speaking I'd say just use whatever's in the original post, but if you want to be absolutely sure to have the latest and greatest that's really the only way to do it right now. It's a minor hassle, yeah, but it's probably just how it's gonna be for a little while.
RogueMage Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Timestamps, sometimes it's just the simple things. Should have made this up myself. Thx for the help.
iron_jack Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Heh, no problem. I can't mod for shit, so I try to help out around here in other ways.
Tregarin Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I try to keep the plugin thread as up to date as possible, and I've always tried to keep track of any updates to a plugin that don't get put into the OP of the relevant thread... the only one that I haven't (as of now, since I haven't checked to see which have been updated in the last 12 hours... I've been playing Civ V all day, sue me! ) seen updated to the OP is the variant SewerSlave plugin that ChaseRoxand made. As far as I know, there isn't any that don't get updated in the OP when a new version comes out... but I'll put a note at the top of the plugin thread to advise where in a thread the latest version is, if it isn't in the OP of the thread itself. But, before I do that... I'm gonna have to check and see what's been updated while I've been goofing off.
Guest Loogie Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 If Bromm and I made it, its usually the file in the OP. Zippy adds MCM support. With three of us making mods, it's occasionally the last file posted in th thread. We would never have a situation where the latest file is in the middle.
annika Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 For me, Sexout stuff seems so neatly organized. I know, I've been staring at the Lovers PK threads too much. At one point I think there were three versions of Tamago (or Tomago?), RaperS, Joburg etc. And the descriptions? Oh my god... I still don't know what some of the plugins do.
Guest Loogie Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Sometimes LoversLab suffers from infinite library syndrome - having all the information with no organization is often the same as having no information.
Halstrom Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 The OP version is pretty much the safe version in my book, anything else is likely to be a little experimental, even the OP in mine is experimental, it's whatevery I ran last as that way, I'm not dealing with issues from outdated versions To date stamp them with file names it means we have to zip the files, because if we renamed the esp with the date some people may install multiple versions and then have problems galore, I just try copy it over and wait till windows pops up with the "Do you want to Replace...." then check the dates at that point
