How do i keep the videos running? ive tried to reset the sim and keep them running but the tv ends up going black, it still thinks its on but the video is gone. ive got it going longer at some times but i cant honestly tell how or what ive done differently

Thank you!! I will be back to it soon. I've been on hiatus for a few months due to parenthood and 2020 being trash. But I will be back. I forgot how I did all this so I need to refresh myself lol. I plan on adding Koikatsu Party scenes that I have filmed of my own gameplay, plus I have a heavily modded Skyrim I am going to be adding videos I filmed from that for games as well.

That is very strange and I have no idea why that would be the case. I have never had an issue with the movies finishing. Just to test it, have you tried having your sim sit and watch the full movie to see if it completes? I haven't had this issue before.

if i try and have them just sit there and watch the full thing, after a minute or 2 they get up and just turn it off.  :/ i suppose it could be messing with another mod but idk what that could be... i dont think i have any other tv related mods.

That's strange. It could be related to your Sims needs. Why are they getting up? Bathroom? Something like that?

Hi! the screen always goes black after a little while I can never watch the whole thing. I even did the reset sim so it's not about the sim turning it off. Can you help me?

This is super helpful! I haven't made any edits to this mod in a long time, since pre-COVID. My life just hasn't allowed me the time to do so. TBH I have forgotten how (I'll need a refresher before I can update it more) but I do plan on continuing it at some point. These screens are super helpful. TY

For those of you who are having the issue of the TV turning off, even when you use (Reset Debug), I just want to let you all know it is now happening for me too. It never used to happen, I would be able to use reset debug, and the TV would stay on until the video completed. However after coming back to the game after some time, I appear to be having that same issue. I am not sure what is causing this. I have no idea. If anybody has any idea, feel free to let me know, and I will do what I can to fix it if possible.

EDIT: After playing the game a bit, it seems that these video files are still "playing" on the TV, but the screen turns black. After using Rese Debug, and the TV eventually goes black, I can have my sim sit back down to continue watching the "current movie" which is a black screen. Viewing these files outside of the game, they play in full. I am unclear of what causes this. If anybody has any insight, I am all ears. If I can pinpoint the issue, I will do what I have to to fix it.

I have removed all mods and loaded just my mods to see if it will finish the videos. It is so strange, because the videos when viewed outside of the game are complete. But the same files played in game all turn black after a specific amount of time. I have no idea what is causing this. Doing what I can to troubleshoot.

The very same mod files that I am using, the ones you can download here, are the same ones that used to work no problem. So I don't think it is at all a problem with how the mods were created. They worked flawlessly before. I'll figure it out somehow.

EA has been known to break a lot of stuff out of the blue for no apparent reason. My uneducated guess could be that the length of the videos might be coming into play now. If they're too long then the game might be stopping them from playing properly after a game update broke it. But really that's just a wild stab in the dark on my part.

I read through the replacement guide and saw that a lot of the videos are quite lengthy (30+ minutes).

 

It's nice that you're on top of it and trying to fix the situation.

You might be right. So far, the shorter cartoon videos work fine because of their length. However, when I am using a custom porn TV channel mod, I can leave them on all day without interruption. So maybe it is something with the movies in particular.

im having a problem where the tv turns off before the movies over even tho i used the reset object debug on my sim so he wouldn't change the channel.
