maroon.andy Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hey Guys, Been having an issue recently right after i installed the latest Dragonborn DLC for skyrim. In short, I can't enter Solstheim because when i try asking Captain Salt-Sage to take me there, as the game goes into the loading screen, in CTD's immediately. I'd love to just use commands to get there but i doubt it'll work since i think my game is bugged or i've got angry mods that hate Dragonborn. :| I've googled almost everything i guess? there's even a dude who says to clean mod files by using that TES5Edit, but is there another way i could solve this? I'll snap a few shots of the mods i have and if any of you can let me know which mod is having a collision with the DLC. Cheers!

myuhinny Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 When I installed dragonborn it was on a new install with very few mods installed the few that were installed were clothing mods have to look good when kicking dragonborn impostors ass and the other dlc's. I did that so that there was no way there would anything that would cause any conflicts with dragonborn because it's new and you have no clue what will play nice with it and what won't so it was better to for me to leave everything out till after I completed dragonborn then install mods back. I had one ctd during game play but that is quite common with their games so I just loaded it back up and continued along.

When I did dragonborn it was on a new game as old saves can have stuff stored on it that can cause problems. From looking at the picture you uploaded you have over 1K dirty edits in total from the mods that you have installed and that right there can cause major problems. When I do reinstalls I delete everything from my skyrim folder.

Though shit started to break when i quicksaved.. game CTDd :|
myuhinny Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I used UFO when I went through with no problem but then I didn't want any of the dragonborn followers as I brought my own. Never had any patches unofficial or official just the dlc's and a few outfits.

pds123 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 wet and cold and fooprints both have updates for solsteim ashes wise I see you have get snowy which is kind of obsolete since wet and cold does the same thing. The problem with large mod lists in skyrim is once they're in your save they're there for good so it could be multiple issues and it's pretty hard to trouble shoot.
