A collection of 504 female portraits (and a couple of futanaris) for Starsector, ranging from humans to various humanoid fantasy species. Mostly not very setting-friendly. All portraits can be used by the player and player officers, as well as npcs.

 

Installation:

1. Extract the archive

2. Copy content into the "mods" folder in the game directory (create the "mods" folder if it doesn't exist)

3. Activate the mod in the launcher

 

Compatibility:

This shouldn't conflict with any other mods you have installed, but let me know if you run into any problems.

 

If you are using a mod that adds new factions, and you want the new portraits to show up on those, download faction_patches.zip, and follow the instructions in the readme. It doesn't contain patches for all of the factions found on the starsector forum mod page, but it's very easy to create one yourself.

No, it only adds female portraits, the default ones are still there. It would be possible to make the new portraits replace the old female ones, I could make a version just for that.

Also, a new version with 500+ portraits is up!  I think that might be enough, I will concentrate on finding and fixing portraits that have errors (like ugly looking white borders from bad background removal). Maybe, I'll add a few portraits for the [redacted] for the next update.

does anyone know of a good way to disable the vanilla portraits? would just renaming the mod pictures and replacing the originals work?

It's possible, I'll make a version later when I have time.

I've uploaded a patch to disable vanilla portraits. Basically, just renaming the portraits in the mod folder to the vanilla filenames overrides the vanilla portraits. It replaces all portraits, including the males ones, except for story characters and AIs.

Thanks mate, absolutely love you replacer for Stellaris, And this one gonna be great for sure:)
