grafic card YOUR GRAPHIC CARD DIED WHO WAS THE MANUFACTURER?

I had a Gainward card die on me because it used cheap Chinese capacitors that dried out and failed.  This was a long time ago: the card was a Geforce4 Ti4200.  I still remember it because of how frustrating the problem was.  It was in my Linux box, and I would randomly get the "pink screen of death" after running X for some time.  I searched high and low for reports of issues with X versus ti4200, X versus Geforce4, etc, and never found anything.  Then it finally occurred to me to search for reports of defects specifically with Gainward 4200 cards, and found a lot of forum posts about it.  (Isn't the internet great, I can still find this stuff 17 years later!). 

 

Sadly, the card was out of warranty by the time I found out about the problem, so I drove over to Best Buy and bought a PNY Ti4600 to replace it.  That card still works to this day.

I have MSI GeForce RTX 2060 GAMING Z 6G and happy with this even tiny minus that I have 6GB and there was 8GB version SUPER but I didn't know when I bought this... Can somebody tell me do I miss something that I have 6GB and not 8GB? What happen if my graphic settings goes over that 6GB? I don't want buy new GPU again LOL! Silly questions ???

Now I have fried a CPU or Motherboard or two over the years but this past year has totally sucked hardware wise. In late October I fried my first graphics card a GIGABYTE (I don't recall the series). Now that was completely my fault I had a raid card positioned to close underneath it so it could not breath properly. That card was no longer in production since my last rebuild was approximately 5 years old. So I got a newer more powerful ASUS 920 series card that my motherboard could still handle and removed the raid card. All is right with the world, January rolls around and my motherboard goes up in smoke. Now my hand was wrapped and unusable due to injuries so I take my PC to a local shop for a new motherboard (no PC for a week). Then everything is fine until late last month my relatively new graphics card fries and due to lack of cash and now slow deliveries for some reason I still don't have a working PC, other than this ancient POS laptop. So no games worth a damn.
