Creature framework reinstallation asssitance needed

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm running under skyrim 1.5.80/SKSE64 2.0.16 <<< important

I originally had Creature framework setup correctly. But somewhere along the line (recently, within the past ~month) I either tried upgrading it, added something else, or...well something, and then started getting the "Creature Framework is still registering" message and after several  attempts to fix it, I'm still getting the "Creature framework is still registering..." message and (I think) related glitches in-game.

At this point my eyes are a bit crossed on the matter (have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod), and I'm hoping that some kind person(s) will help to guide me back to normalcy...

As in ELI5 help. I AM confused at this point

I (think I) followed the load order specs to the tee so I doubt that's an issue. I think it's more a matter of the version and perhaps leftover resources, creature skeletons., scripts?... idk...garbage from what ever first caused it plus my attempts to reinstall (multiple) , but... well, that's where you  come in.

So here are the potentially related mods I have installed currently (some might not actually have any relation, I'm just not sure). PS> they're not listed in any particular order below

Creature framework 1.1.0-pre2A-SE
JContainers SE 4.1.11
SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA7
Animal_SOS_SE_0.1.6.3_b3
ASOS_0.1.6.3_b3_ABC_Patch
BakaFactory ABC LE SE 1.40V
CBPC 1.3.5
FNIS SE - FNIS Behavior SE 7_6
FNIS SE - FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 XXL
FNIS SE - FNIS Creature Pack SE 7.6
FNIS SE - FNIS Spells SE 7.0
Animation Limit Crash Fix for SSE - SrtCrashFix_SSE v0.3 Beta
BadDogHoodiesSSE_V08_00_04
MoreNastyCritters_v_12_01
SL Animation Loader SE 1.0.0
SOS - Animal Addon_0.3.1_BETA

loadorder and plugin lists attached

Note, both "re-register" and "uninstall" are grayed out in the creature framework MCM.

thanks for reading.

Creature Framework Troubleshooting:

the MCM for Creature Framework is missing:
you need to install Sexlab Aroused to fix this problem.
https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5482-sexlab-aroused-redux-sse-version-29/
also make sure it's loading before Creature Framework in the load order.

the MCM for Creature Framework is empty:
just clicking around randomly like an idiot on the screen seems to fix that, but if that fails try reinstalling JContainers.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16495

Aroused mesh not getting/staying applied during animations (a list of things to try):
A. go to the Creature Framework MCM and click on "Re-register all mods", then unpause the game and Wait a Minute.
B. go to the Creature Framework MCM and click on "Clear Creatures"....(and then maybe add "bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1" to the skyrim.ini file in your save folder, it should go under the "[General]" section)
C. go to the Creature Framework MCM and enter the performance settings, increase the "Cloak Cooldown" to 10.
D. try clicking on the uninstall button in CF's MCM, then save & quit and reload the save. (wait for Creature Framework to reinstall and register)
E. in SSE some people continue to have problems with the version of Creature Framework included with MNC, so if it's still not working click on the uninstall button in CF's MCM, then save & quit (DON'T reload), then install the standalone version of Creature Framework SE: https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5462-creature-framework-se/
note: if it shows up just ignore the "things will be broken" warning message.

Creature Framework not registering mods or stuck in a registering loop:
try reinstalling JContainers.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16495

There was a problem if you had any Mods from CrapClub (Creation Club) installed, but that bug should be fixed in newer versions of JContainers:
the problem was you had to remove them before you could register/reregister Creature Framework based mods into Creature Framework.

1) I do have SL aroused installed (I just didn't think of listing it outright)

2) The Creature Framework  MCM appears, although those two entries I noted are grayed out. And that "registering" message pops up each time I select the mod's MCM

3) Aroused meshes work in game (at least for those few animals that successfully "get my attention" . However, some creatures (certain giants for instance, walk around with their members sticking through their clothing as if it was attached to their thigh (some other animals also, and when killed they often go sideyways out the body (bears , deer, tigers, some trolls for example)

4) ah.... ok I'll try that. sounds about right for my MCM symptom, right? (JContainers)

5) no CC stuff here.

thank you for your reply!

Well, partial success. My guy player's game has no issues (although to be honest, I'm not sure if his game ever had any issues as I really don;t use the feature when playing with him).

Unfortunately My female player's game (the one I posted based on, and which is displaying this message and with the grayed out  "re-register" and "uninstall" buttons) is still showing the same behavior as before. "blah blah, still registering or installing...blah blah"

bump.

My one player sees no problems at all. In fact, when his games are loaded there is no console traffic aside from the normal "boot" process messages. And the Creature Framework MCM opens without any additional warnings.

My other player  is a different situation. Each time she is loaded (ie one of her saves), the console shows Creature framework initializing. Things **seem to work ok, even with the persistent Creature framework initialization that occurs when her saves are loaded, but a) it re-initializes on every load and b) even after (and the wait time can be hours), that modal box keeps on appearing when I open the Creature Framework MCM entry and the two selections I noted are grayed out remain grayed out for her.

Is there some flag I can set or clear (ie a particular script or something I can manually purge)  for her save that will stop it from re-initializing over and over?

These are what I'm seeing. Note, the second two images have some overlap because it wouldn't show the completion in the second snap. the last pic is what I see after waiting for a while and trying to open the Creature Framework MCM (in this case I waited l 10 minutes... I've waited far longer as well, with the same problem) Also note the console report entries. "Already loaded... Skipping....), so clearly it recognizes (after the fact) that initialization has already been completed.

Might be a problem with the AVS. Try disabling the 'Ransomware protection' or exclude the folders for Skyrim in 'Documents'.

Hopefully that fixes the initialisation.

Thanks for your reply... Unfortunately, the answer is "Nope".  And as I noted, (this is key) the male player doesn't see this issue at all, but the female player does. Same game installation, same mods, same load order... I'm pretty certain that it's something to do with her save files.

Hmmm...

I ran into probems with Animal_SOS_SE_0.1.6.3_b3 and BakaFactory ABC LE SE 1.40V but those shouldn't cause the issue.

But you listed FNIS SE - FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 and FNIS SE - FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 XXL. Maybe having both causes problems? Just guessing here...

Posted

Hmmm... Again, one character has no issues, the other does. Both use identical mods and load order and the same game engine and infrastructure. This is NOT two different Skyrim installations.

As for XXL, it's been a while since I installed it, but I was under the impression that FNIS "regular" was required for its addition. Is that incorrect?

(I would just disable the first (non XXL) as an experiment, but I'm concerned about it screwing something up at a basic level... )

Afaik those are separate.

But you might have run one char with the 'small' version and the other one with 'XXL' and that confuses the other mods as there might be remnants of the old run (maybe in the save) left. Again guessing here. Did you already try FallrimTools?

Posted

1) Nope. Both have the same large animation list capabilities and the same animations installed and registered.

2) Yes, I've been reviewing and trying to compare the two players saves via Fallrim, but it's largely mumbo jumbo to me so far ( in terms of what we're talking about here)  I'm also not sure how to strip individual entries even if I do find something that provides an "AHA!" moment, but that's another matter.

Aylis,

Yes, it's a frustrating issue. I really do appreciate your efforts to try to help, even if they didn't "solve" it.

So thank you for trying, and thank you for helping me to focus in towards whatever solution I do find.

It's not a game stopper. Everything important still works (I think). It's just an annoyance, like a splinter you can't quite get at no matter how hard or deep you dig ;)

I had a similar issue and have found an ugly workaround.  Creature Framework worked fine on one save, failed on the other.   As far as I can tell, it has to do with the way MCM stores it's data.

My solution was to make a copy of my save-game entirely remove Creature Framework and all of it's dependents.   Load into that new save-game.   Even after uninstalling it, MCM will show a 'phantom' Creature Framework with nothing in it for a few minutes before, eventually, it'l clear itself.   At that point save and exit the game entirely.   At this point you should be able to reinstall Creature Framework (Or MNC with it's built-in version) and all of it's dependents.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, this explanation managed to solve my problem with Creature Framework

also with the same prob, It seems to be more a incompatibility with j-containers, I've tried  4.1.1, thru 4.1.13, 4.2.0, 4.2.2 all with different results, so the question is which j-containers should we be using with cf 2a and cf pre-2a. Or has someone figured out a replacement for CF and I don't know about it.
