mem4ob4 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I adjusted some meshes and added a mesh. Skeleton is imported and individual mesh is selected. In modifiers it shows it already has an armature ob: Scene Root. Am I good to go without adding it again? Second question: the added mesh shows armature ob: Scene Root.00 Edit off the .00 -or- add a Scene Root armature -or- leave it alone? I am slowly knocking the rust off my blender so hopefully will be more productive. Thanks, Mem
movomo Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Nope. You don't bother to touch them anymore, in fact, do not touch them. Leave everything to the nif script. Assuming you've selected every objects before you import the skeleton, that is all. You can export them as soon as importing is over. Otherwise if you edit the OB/AR names after importing the skeleton like removing .00 or something like that, you can still export them if you've done correctly but it tends to give craps like Scene Root->Scene Root.00->... when you open the nif file.
gerra6 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 As Movomo said, if you are exporting a nif, after you import the armature, don't touch the modifier. The exception to this rule is generally only if you are using the skeleton to actually modify the mesh (ie, change the default pose, etc).
