myuhinny Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Gloss can depend on many things. Is the person using a gloss ENB did they use glosstech did they alter the nif files or texture files. One way to get gloss look is to change the glossiness float in the _0 and _1 nif files. Open each nif and click the body and go down to BSLightingShaderProperty and click the little arrow to the left of it to get the drop down. Next do down to glossiness and change it from what it is to something higher. 1000.0000 is max but I can't remember what the lowest setting is. You can also try messing with the Specular Strength. Just remember what you do to one nif must be done exactly the same in the other nif as well or nothing will change in game. Make sure to back up both _0 and _1 nifs before starting just in case you mess up you have something to reset the messed up files with by overwriting them. Spoiler
mizikage Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 also i use sharpshooter enb but no gloss enb
mizikage Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 @myuhinny so i downloaded nifskope v 7.0. now how can i increase the glossiness. and how can i back up my files ? sorry to bother but im downright beginner at this
myuhinny Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 You back up files by making copies of them and the easiest way to do that is to highlight them and right click on them and select copy then right click in the folder and paste they'll get the name copy added to their file name and if you make a mistake make a copy of the copy delete the bad one paste the file and delete out all of the copy from the name till it looks like how the old one was named. I'm not sure with the newer versions of nifskope as I don't use those versions. I only use nifskope 1.1.3.
mizikage Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 @myuhinny ok ill download the same version. one more question. where can i find my charachters femalebody nif files? because i did some research and i need some bsa extractor for the meshes. the only femalebody nif files i was able to find are the ones of other characters.
myuhinny Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Depends on what you have installed. Custom races have their own folders for their bodies and textures so that other races don't affect them or mess them up. Other bodies are found in meshes/actors/then whatever race folder or meshes/actors/character/character assets or meshes/actors/character/whatever race. If the race or whatever you have installed has it's file located in a BSA file then you'll need something like FOMM (fallout mod manager) which has a built in BSA extractor in it. If you installed a race or something the best and easiest way to tell where the body nifs are located at is to open the ZIP/RAR and look at what's in it and what the folder pathways are that are in it if there are any. If you extract only 1 file like 1 nif then you would have to make the whole folder pathway for that nif file to match the pathway that is shown in the BSA file for that nif file. But if you extract 2 files at the same time like the _0 and _1 body nif it'll make the folder pathway for you and all you'll have to do is drop that folder into the correct spot in your mesh folder and the nifs in the mesh folder will be read instead of the ones in the BSA so the altered ones that you altered will appear instead of the ones in the BSA.
mizikage Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 @myuhinny i think i have found the correct nif files. are they the ones i need ?
myuhinny Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Best way to find out is to test. Make copies for femalebody_1 femalebody_0 femalefeet_1 femalefeet_0 femalehands_1 femalehands_0 femalehead as well as the 1stpersonfemalebody_1 1stpersonfemalebody_0 and 1stpersonfemalehands_1 1stpersonfemalebody_0 then load each one up and change the glossiness and then go into game and see how it looks. The higher the number the more glossy it'll be.
mizikage Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 thank you very much ill try it and ill come back here to tell you the result
mizikage Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 @myuhinny so i tested it with femalebody_0 but this is what it looks like
Andy14 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Don't edit any nifs for glossi effects. Otherwise you have to edit all armor (which have a body mesh) and you have to recreate all NPC heads, who use this body. Edit the specular maps instead. This is what these textures are for. There are only 3 textures. Body, hands and head _s.dds. Make a backup before and make the textures a little brighter. Or use a Mod for more dynamic. For example
