Favorite soundtrack music

Music is always a big part of video games and it really helps bring everything to life. You wouldn't think music would be one of the most important things in a video game but sometimes it really can be. Some games I remember them just from the music alone, like Final Fantasy VII. That music is engraved in my mind, it's truly fantastic work and brought the entire game together. So what are your favorites?

Pretty much all of Timesplitters 2 for me. Well, the whole series really, but I believe 2 had the most diverse. It also has the best of the first game

The Final Fantasy VIII, Chrono Cross, The Megaman series and Shogo M.A.D. soundtracks are my favorites. There's alot of other games with songs I love and know by heart but these are the games I almost know every song. I can remember so many events that transpired just my listening to the music for those games. I've even added some Chrono Cross tracks into my Oblivion. But what I love most about songs from video games is that they inspire new musicians. I absolutely love watching and listening to people play these great songs on either similar or different instruments.

My favorite remake of one of the most awesome theme songs I've ever heard, the Grabbag Duke Nukem theme. This song is just so badass you can't help but want to go save the world's women from hordes of alien assholes =P

And last but certainly not least, the intro for Final Fantasy VIII featuring the song is Liberi Fatali. This song probably has had the most impact on my gaming life because when this game came out and I got my hands on it, nothing else in the world mattered. I just became totally immersed in the game and this was the start of RPG's for me since it was my first.

I do like the FF7 OST although I've never played the game, and that Witcher song is frikkin amazing!

Though it's not from a game, Tribal War from the movie Black Hawk Down is something that's stuck with me. It amazes me that they took a three and a half minute piece of music and used it in every battle scene in a two and a half hour movie.

The Last Remnant had a pretty awesome soundtrack. The rest of the game was pretty meh, but the music was great

And of course Chrono Cross still has the best sound track to date, if you ask me.

Skyrim did very well too.
