*Update* When i removed the Classic Holstered Weapons - Additional Skeleton Support mod off and load the game, the weapon doesn't show up when holstered, forcing me to reinstall the mod back and when i get back into the game, the holster's back.

 

 

It's when i interact with the workbench during that time, though it doesn't immediately CTD but does so in a few seconds later if i recalled correctly

 

 

Yes, i'm currently starting a new game, and yes, SMU, especially Redux version, that i had occurred a few weird instances where i either couldn't click the "Load" page to see my load files, or that the smoking/auto save doesn't work when i was on a new game. So i had to start another new game, and so far, no such occurrences happened again with the load bug or that the smoking/autosave bug.

 

I also agree that skeleton.nif had annoyed me quite a number of times before you recommended the discrete female skeleton mod fix.

 

I will continue to further test in this new game and see if there's anymore issues with it

 

 

Unfortunately i already removed my old save files as i'm currently starting a new game, But i will continue testing to see if such an occurrence will happen again in the future or not, i will report my progress if there's anything changes

I use Vortex on my other games, Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. I never used Vortex for Fallout 4, and i have reinstalled Fallout 4 and focused on primarily using MO2 for Fallout 4 only 

 

Will go through the rest of the list later, but one big red flags I see is that you have for some reason, AAF creature resources installed. This is what was probably causing most of the super mutant issues. AAF creature resources is integrated into UAP, and you are not supposed to installed creature resources if you are using UAP (says so on the ACR page).

Currently my game hasn't had any CTDs...yet, ever since i removed some mods, but will continue my further testing

Strange occurrence when a random encounter had me meet Dreth the traveling merchant npc, and i would CTD multiple times if i linger around her with her two mercenaries for a few mins long. No crash logs generated. 

 

I also experienced multiple CTDs at Corvega Assembly Plant where the buffout4 crash log detected either:

- Start me up Redux

- Raider Gang Extended NPC (Fixed & Cleaned).esp

- W.A.T.Minutemen.esp

 

And possible culprits include: 

- skeleton.nif

- Materials\Actors\Character\HumanCommon\Mouth.BGSM

- Materials\Gore\ExplodedMeatTile.BGSM

My money is still on start me up, but that just could be me being prejudice towards the mod. Could you post this particular crash log please? The fact that skeleton.nif keeps popping up is odd.

 

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to go through the rest of the mod list yet. The last few days have been busy helping the fam deal with a hoarder clean up. However, during my own testing, I found another potential culprit. PRP could be related to the crashes.

 

I've been testing PRP and the PRP files for beantown interiors, and both mods have been surprisingly crash happy. Not sure what is going on, but they've thrown up some very bizarre crash logs, including issues with other mods like wasteland illumination and unique player that I can't begin to explain why or how they're causing CTDs. I think it's also caused a crash or two involving the fallout4.esm and teddy bears of all things. Still trying to sort that mess out. Try running without PRP for a bit and see if that makes a difference.

That's understandable so no worries with irl busy clean up. I did had one PRP CTD but that was reported in the crash log once so i can't be sure if the other CTDs are related to this but i'll give it try. Also, Eyewear and mask retexture with the EAMR.esp did showed up in my crash log as well, again, only happened one time.

 

Most of my CTDs would have skeleton.nif involvement, along with Start me Up, Raider Gang Extended, W.A.T. minuteman and even Discrete Female Skeleton in the crash logs

 

During my last night's playthrough, i had to snipe in a far distance to kill the raiders posted outside of the Corvega Assemply Plant before i could move in to loot the dead bodies. It was mostly okay, as i was able to go in and out of the plant without having any CTDs, until it happened to crash by the 3rd or 4th time exploring outside of the plant. 

 

I would also experience random CTDs with no crash logs that i could not replicate, for example: after i made my save or that i try to go to my mod config 

 

I had experienced multiple CTDs at Weston Water Plant on a specific spot, and had tried disabling PRP but there's no positive effect out of this as i'll still have CTD. 

The moment i reach to Sanctuary at level 24, the moment i leave Sanctuary and just passing the bridge or near Red Rocket station, there'll be CTD. List of culprits include:

Update: I have tried disabling We are The Minute Men and Barefoot Footstep Extended to test if the CTDs are related, and i still experience CTD which skeleton.nif and cbp.dll (CBP Physics for Fallout 4) among the culprits.

I removed all my current mods and did a clean uninstallation for my game, then reinstalled it. Currently slowly adding mods and reached to the beginning of the "NPC and Creatures" section

 

One user, by the name of Basiq, in the Ghouls Revamped mod page, had provided a solution for the CTDs with the ghouls' texture:

the shortest way to find that folder is to right click no Revamped Ghouls mod in the left window of MO and chose "Open in Explorer" it will open That folder and save you time for looking for it.

I had the Zaz Extended Skeleton (ZeX)  and CBP Physics for Fallout 4 installed, and in my testing, i ran around Corvega Assembly Plant around the neighborhood with no issues in my multiple times of testing (even booting up the game a few times as well), spawned a 2-3 dozens of feral ghouls at the assembly plant and encounter no CTDs. I tested by spawning 2 dozen settlers with ghoul settlers at Sanctuary with no issues

 

This test is without the Start me Up Redux installed yet

I think i manage to isolate the issue with the CTDs that i had been experiencing with the skeleton.nif at the Corvega Assembly Plant, although these two mods are not from your list, but i like to share this info for future references:

 

CSEP Presents Commonwealth Killer and Flashy(JoeR) - Gun For Hire - Commonwealth Mercenary Jobs will cause CTD, but so far, running either only one mod didn't have the same issue...yet.

Been experiencing random CTDs upon teleporting into Corvega Assembly Plant with Place Everywhere 

 

Update: Also encountering CTDs with The Zap Gun - a makeshift laser weapon and See Through Scopes

If you came from another mod manager it has quite a steep learning curve, but well worth it, if you are just starting with it, there are quite a few guides for mo that do transfer pretty much across to mo2, and of course you can always ask in here or other places for help with it.

I was primarily using Vortex for a couple of years when playing New Vegas and Skyrim, so yes, i agree MO2 has a steep learning curve and i was at first, quite intimidated by the tool, but throughout the month i was using it, going back and forth in installing and uninstalling mods, testing the mods, etc, , i'm beginning to see why people like using MO2, some of the functions (that i'm aware of) are quite useful

So i remember you've mentioned about PRP and i went to disabled it, no CTDs after i disabled the mod. 

 

Also, the PRP mod that i installed was recently updated on the August 9th so i was using that. Prior before the clean installation, i was using the previous version before the new update.

After much researching, i found the issue with the CTD that occurs when interacting Shaun's crib when starting a new game, it was caused from Bodytalk3. Thanks to Sgt. Marge who provided the information regarding the issue with the CTD, the solution for it was when installing Bodytalk 3, do not include pre-built clothing. Also, there is a new update for Bodytalk july version and the thread/post in here

 

I have started a new installation and a new playthrough, and will continue my testing to see if this will fix the other CTDs that i have experienced regarding with the pre-built clothing. 

 

I also included a few mods in my current setup for improving game performance as recommendations: Rikintosh's Performout - ALL Game Textures Resized and FPSL - Lighting and Tweaks Performance

Eh, the bodytalk thing is why you need to keep your mods up to date. Haven't run into the crash issue with july R2, but Arturo's still a little messed up. 

 

Rikintosh is basically an alternative to luxor's overhaul for lower end PCs. Unfortunately, because the twit didn't do proper before and after pics, it's hard to tell just what the difference is between the base vanilla game and his mod. Not something I am interested in testing at this time. FPSL might be worth looking into, will look into it in more detail later. If you are going to use Rikintosh's textures, you could probably skip the luxor overhaul install.

 

As for the mod list you posted, other than the stuff I already pointed out, the only other outstanding issue I see is that you have see-through scopes before the zap gun (very minor one). See through should be at the very bottom of the section, after all the weapon mods. If everything else is up to date, there shouldn't be any problems, though I still admittedly have my misgivings about start me up (again, probably mostly due to my prejudice towards the original mod). 

 

PRP is, eh. The work being done on that mod has potential, but in it's present state it's really not that stable when mixed with other mods that alter the areas it touches. Given that its still early beta, I am hoping that it will gain some more compatibility over time. Same goes for some of the off-shoot mods as well. Tried the PRP fixes for beantown interiors, and that didn't go all that well, though even without the PRP fix, Beantown is not as stable as it used to be. Some mods just do not age well I guess. I'm going to continue monitoring PRP's progress, but for the time being, try it if you like, but if the game starts to crash more often on weird stuff, it might be PRP, even if buffout isn't pointing to it directly.

 

Going back to one of my previous posts on the subject, i've since confirmed that some of my weirder crashes that didn't point to anything in particular (like the weird teddy bear crash I mentioned before), may have had to do with beantown interiors. Not 100% sure admittedly, but I have since ruled out PRP as being the culprit. Going to start a new play through with an adjusted list to see if I can very that and a few others later this week (Still need to check some stuff out in the glowing sea with the current FG list).

 

The ghoul thing is, very odd. I've since run into it in my own FG test play through, though I have yet to sit down and dig into what is going on there. Unfortunately, MO2 doesn't check for overwrites with the base game files, so if the problem really is linked to Luxor's overhaul, it makes things a bit harder to troubleshoot. Currently playing around with the more feral ghouls fix to see what that does. Given that it is overwriting savrenX's files, I am wondering if that might be part of the issue.

Thank you for looking into my previous mod list and your feedback, greatly appreciate your input. In my current new playthrough, i did not include Start Me Up Redux since i can safely bypass the whole introduction with Shaun's crib and exited out of the vault safely. I included PRP in my current list to see if there's any more issues as well. The only concern is that in my previous playthroughs, the game tends to slow down whenever i reach to level 20 onwards and i'll start to CTD the moment i attempt to leave Sanctuary, so i'm worried if this might happen again.

After updating bodytalk3, my current gameplay seems to go smoothly without any CTDs, especially at Sanctuary. This is with the PRP included in my mod list but haven't venture deeper into the map yet, at most will be at Corvega Assembly Plant. Will continue testing.

PRP will only have issues with areas that have been altered by other mods. If a mod alters a precombine that PRP touches, there will be a conflict. If it's bad enough, it causes the game to crash. So depending on what mods you have installed, you can probably guess what areas might be of issue.

Because I am boy so I play as a boy character (male) - ALWAYS. And because of that, when I install mods I always prefer mods made for males only first (IF I can find any - and there are VERY rare such mods!). I follow almost ALL guides - no matter older or new ones. But what I ALWAYS miss is that there is not one guide that is for males. Always CBBE support, VERY less (or ZERO) male support (BT, AM). I am talking about MALE authors who make guides. Males who play (always) as female characters! By female authors/players I can FULLY understand that they support/want female related mods.

So, when I want to follow one guide's rules I MUST avoid almost all females only related mods and therefor I get weird mod installation and load order issues because females (only) related 'must have' mods are missing. ALL guides want CBBE. But not me! So, what to do? I have to solve this by installing males only related mods (example: No CBBE but Atomic Muscle). Then look in-game if the characters' work properly with the load order (characters, their textures, body morphs, AAF related animations, clothing etc.).

I have the feeling that MALE guides' authors hate males only related mods! Or they are afraid to be marked/called as gays. Gay but gay hating!? BOYS, I think you are doing racism against gays! I am sorry IF you understand wrong what I want to say.  I had no intention of offending anyone. I just wanted to explain the unjust situation with us, boys in the Game's World..

I tried these authors guides: Thuggyfied, MOFAM, Way to the Lost, AAF Fucking Guide, Gernash, now THIS guide. By all of them I miss more support for males.

Anyway, I prefer always guides that are long. The longer the better. And yours is long @asebw. I like it. Even so it is old, but not too old, I will follow your guide too and I started today. I followed mentioned guides and installed almost 45 GB mods (plus downloaded mods approx. 70 GB). You explain step-by-step what to do before installing then how to install mods properly. Because, like I said already, I avoid females only related mods, how should I solve the problem with your installation and load order rules?
I also will not trust, like you said, LOOT. It sorts ESMs and ESLs mix-matched. I sorted after your rules ESMs first then ESLs. I will also use LOOT for sorting help only then sort the load order after guide authors' rules.

 

What I miss is that the "Updates" are separated from your main thread. I found them when I read all pages. Wouldn't it be good to put them under your main page (first page)?

By they way, when I find a guide I always save the WHOLE guide's page to a folder, then add in Mod Organizer 2's empty LIST or MOD folder so that I can always look what to do when installing/sorting mods.
