Determine in CAS which items are in which .package?

Is there a way when you are in CAS that you can determine which piece of clothing is in which .package mod? The same goes for Build mode.

I have a duplicate piece of clothing, but I don't have duplicate .packages in my mod folder or sub folders. It's not a big deal...just annoying me.

You can see with this tool what your Sims are wearing :

Sims 4 Tray Importer

With this you can find the duplicates , put the clothes on a naked Sim - save the Sim - use the try importer to see which package it is .

You can get duplicate items if you use merged packages .... I always try to avoid merged packages .

BTW , be careful before you delete a merged package , because something else important could be in it .

Just a couple more ideas...

If you have WW installed it has a file called WickedWhims.log in your TS4 folder.

Open it and scroll down a fair bit and look for a notation about duplicate files.

Don't think it will show merged files that have dupes though.

The other way is sometimes just using S4S(Sims 4 Studio), and just load the cc menu.

Then direct the program to your Mods folder and start hunting.

You can scan each cc package and look for duplicates even inside of merged packages.

I've found dupes of old merged hair packages I made long ago.

Since I'm always adding new hairs, (loose files), I found them and had to delete the loose files dupes.

Could not un-merge the old file with S4S because of different versions used to merge them.

If/when you merge anything be sure to have a backup of those loose files saved somewhere you can refer back to them before adding new cc of that type.

I learned the hard way.

Use sims 4 studio to open package files or drag/drop them onto the exe/shortcut icon and it'll open straight into a viewer where you can see the item and all its swatches,

Works for CAS and build mode items
