twilabyte Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 I know this probably won't get recognize but is it just me who wonders if EA will ever create like an option for like sex and stuff. I highly doubt it but if you have any thoughts on if they would put this in the Sims 5 or something, I just feel like im not the only person who feels this way...

That's most of their player base. I highly doubted it either, it's just the thought that I felt like I was the only person who ever thinks about like a game like the Sims franchise to make such a realistic game including nudity and all of that
Kathree95 Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 There are a lot of minors who play Sims, exposing them to that kind of content isn't a good idea in any way. When Sims 5 eventually happens someone's bound to mod that stuff in anyway.
FauxFurry Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 There is little that a corporation has to gain by explicit depiction of 'adult intimate interactions' when they can imply that such things occur, leaving it up to adults in the audience to pick up on their inferences while the uninformed children remain oblivious as to what is going on. Odds are that mods will fill in the blanks eventually, allowing the corporation to have their cake and eat it too as far as mass market appeal goes.
landess Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Decided to bring this post back to 'relevance' as the time nears when we will know for certain. I made some statements regarding this and will copy paste them here from the original post I made in The Sims 3 KW mod post. When asked about the Sims 5, I replied: ""Well, 1st off - like previous versions, it's a death sentence for S4. There will be no more content released for S4 once S5 launches. S5 is 'said' to have a multiplayer focus. Using my experience/knowledge from the majority of on-line game means mods from 3rd party/players/public will not be supported and would be reason to 'ban' players. This could go as far as making the game unplayable due to 'lock-out' from the EA servers. See Bethesda: Elder Scrolls online and Fallout 76 for examples - 2 series known for their popularity with the mod user player base and one of the reasons this website exists. To be fair, this doesn't make games completely 'un-moddable'. A good example would be Star Trek Online, where one could replace texture file in their own game to make everyone 'nude', but this would only be seen by the mod user and not anyone else per the 'example mod user' reference - others would also need to do the same thing. This example was also one of the original concepts of mod use, before companies began allowing a modfile framework to be included into the game as default. The Sims series adopted this so they could create a store as well as sell more game copies due to the popularity of player mods. Bethesda also followed suit with the ability for the game to access an official mod 'store'. S5 would likely have a mod store (DUH!) but for players to make their own and use them like we see with S2/3/4 in an online environment is slim to none IMO based on industry experience. Also Players WILL see any store content even if they don't purchase it - so the concept of seeing others have 'cool stuff' and you don't will be emotionally pushed onto those players, creating a shaming environment like a poor kid going to school - I can see it now...... (of course the smart thing to do would be for EA to allow 'gifting' content to others, working the sympathy angle between 'friends' and increasing the profitability of said mechanic) I'm sure Most have heard of the term 'whales' where in-game spending is concerned, and the S5 is likely ground zero for EA's attempt on taking advantage of this mentality. If loot boxes are somehow included in a way, I wouldn't be surprised. This would feed into the gifting of duplicate items. They just have to make the list of objects in a 'lootbox' all the same store value and cheaper than if bought outright. Then playing with the algorithm to make certain objects less 'winnable', and it's game-on..... >>> Say goodbye to the adult content we enjoy today if playing the Sims 5 online. This is obvious, but 'if' there is any Woohoo, how can EA make sure this 'innocent' interaction isn't performed between adults and children players using in-game avatars? It just gets more 'messy' the more one thinks about it...... Streaming game play of the Sims 5 will exponentially increase every 'negative' I've theorized above. S5 will need a lot more content available at launch than previous series strategies have used. Like Windows10, the Sims 5 could end up being the final version for a long time. "The Sims 5 is Live" Could end up as The Sims Live or 'SL' without getting sued by Second Life. Never underestimate EA!""
