Syrith, known as the Hero of Kvatch in some quarters and more latterly Syrith the Sinner grimaced as he was fastened at the waist by a rigid bar to Xula, Redguard, Eternal Sinner and veteran of arena combats. The bar forced them to face in opposite directions and now a Sister approached with sets of chains and straps in hand. He bit back a cry of pain as his testicles where clamped and attached to bands around his thighs. Similarly, Xila's clit was chained to her waist and her labia chained to her thighs. Finally, his erect penis was securely chained so it thrust forward. Motion was going to hurt both of them.

He'd not had to face this before, but been briefly told the rules earlier. The entire body from the neck down was a legitimate target, as were the thighs. Accidental strikes to the arms were permitted but if judged deliberate would earn disqualification, and the penalties for that he'd been assured, were far worse than losing or being judged to have surrendered or not pursued victory with adequate vigour. The natural target for either parties right hand was the buttocks, the left the breasts, chest or genitals, but this was not mandated. You lost when you dropped both crops, and the special properties of those made that something to avoid he'd been told.

"Sinners, punish your opponents!"

Taken by surprise, Syrith recovered and aimed a quick blow at Xula's large and shapely buttocks. The same rumours about the level of pain were true too. He'd also been told that this fire would not subside whilst Xula held the whip that had caused it, and would actually be increased by strikes in the same location.

The bar vanished, leaving them chained, and his body still flayed by white fire. It wouldn't stop till she surrendered the crops, and she hadn't, nor had she been ordered too. Suppressing a moan, he joined Xula in facing the amused Sisters.

"What pleasure will Xula take of her defeated foe?"

"Syrith, kneel and attend to Xula . You will continue till you have bestowed seven orgasms upon her."

Sexuality in Tamriel

Make no mistake. Tamriel is neither Victorian nor medieval England, nor modern Japan. Several Victorian conceits just don't apply and many medieval 'givens' just can't apply.

1. The Victorian idea that women neither enjoy nor want sex is just nonsense and would make a woman of Tamriel laugh like a drain. The ability to work magic is not sex-based. The concept pushed hard by the Romans and perpetuated ever since; that women have a lesser status and require an 'owning male' just never arose. Don't tell a sorceress that she can't look after herself.

2. Medicine in Tamriel is vastly more advanced than medieval Europe, where it actually declined with concepts such as 'bleeding' and rubbing dung into wounds to cure a patient. Contraceptive knowledge also declined from the levels that had existed from Ancient Egypt to the Roman Empire. The actual existence of magic makes pregnancy almost entirely voluntary and venereal diseases no more threatening or prevalent than other diseases.

3. Virginity is not a fetish. Sexual experience is valued in a partner. Rape usually brings opprobrium onto the perpetrator not the victim, especially as it is regarded as a tacit admission of sexual inadequacy. On the downside, mind control spells allow women to rape as easily as men.

4. Sex is not shameful, just usually private. Almost everyone does it and wants it. Tamriel is most certainly not a 'shame culture'. Voyeurs
are generally regarded as pathetic.

5. Gladiators are sex symbols. Like in Ancient Rome, they are generally regarded as low status in most cases but have a certain reputation. Naturally this includes female gladiators.

6. Many sexual terms can apply equally to men and women or have equivalents. In Tamriel a women can fuck her partner hard too! Alternatively she can clench or even imprison his pulta within her vault.

7. Xenophilia is not unusual nor provokes that much comment. Sections were excised from 'The Real Berenzia' because she was an important noble, not because of the inter-species sex.

8. Regional variations and other cultures on Nirn. TBD.

In general, the terms below are selected to be pre 20th and 21st century and so hopefully in keeping with Tamriel. On the whole, those terms that are also in modern use or seem medical are old. IRL, 'fuck' goes back at least 500 years. Note that 'Cum' with its Internet era spelling is right out though!

Very, very interesting. I really like the way you are approaching this. While I've used various sex-related additions in my Oblivion, it just never felt "right". It felt out of place. Like something added simply to put sex in the game. The direction this seems to be going is to make it feel like a natural part of the world of Tamriel and I appreciate that approach. Sexual situations and more adult themes in games with context, that allows one to play a role naturally is refreshing to me and something I seek out.

Fidelity is also rather different in concept on Tamriel.

IRL, fidelity has never been regarded as that important when applied to men. From ancient times up to Victorian England and its hordes of prostitutes, society has rarely castigated men for being promiscuous.

The behaviour of women is another matter. In part because of power imbalances and the extreme fear of women’s sexuality espoused by many religions, but mostly because of the difficulty in proving paternity, men have often sought to control women’s sexuality.

The prevalence of magic, with rather more reliable determination of parenthood has a strong effect here. As long as parenthood is not compromised, Tamriel has a far more relaxed attitude and the actual details of a relationship are usually left to the individuals concerned.

Regional variations and other cultures on Nirn.

Khajiiti. Have a strong sex-drive that is basically feline but modified by their sentience. Both sexes go into ‘heat’ which enhances their sexual desires as such times rather than activating them. Consequentially they have a reputation for boundless sexual energy and enthusiasm. Most males have feline genital barbs, which excites comment from other races of Tamriel. Less well known is the existence of female vaginal barbs which come as a painful if harmless surprise to non-khajiiti who engage in xenophilia without a little research.

Bretons. Regarded as passionate, even more broad-minded than the Imperials. They have a reputation for experimentation and a fascination with magical sexual devices.

Redguards. Felt to be somewhat more reserved than the average Imperial but both sexes have a reputation as potent lovers.

Ayleids. Reputed to have been seriously kinky with many strange fetishes and desires. Used magic extensively in loveplay and created advanced magically devices that are highly sort after by collectors today. Examples included matching, jewelled, filigree harnesses that caused lovers to be enthralled by their partners subconscious or be compelled, in various shocking ways to act out exhausting, painful and pleasurable sexual scenarios like puppets.

Argonians. Thought to regard sex as merely a reproductive activity.

Altmer. Rumoured to be secretly a lot like the Ayleids and be avid collectors of Ayleid sexual devices. Of course the reserved Altmer dismiss all this as speculation.

Dunmer. Noted for a powerful sex drive, especially the women who are said to have the highest libido in all Tamriel. They share many of the same proclivities as Ayleids but are far more open about it than the Altmer.

Bosmer. Males have an undeserved reputation for inadequacy whilst females are reputed to suffer sexual frustration as a result.

Orsimer. Have an extreme sex-drive, especially the males. Orc males are reputedly only out-matched by Dunmer females. Both sexes are very earthy in their desires.

Nords. Very lusty but unsophisticated. Their art and literature for both sexes often equate sheer size with potency. A Nord hero from the sagas will be extremely well hung. Equally, a Nord heroine will have very large breasts and genitals. Both will have sex drives to match and be unembarrassed by their desires.

Daedra. The Daedra have a strange attitude to all mortal sexuality. On the one hand, they consider most of them little better than very intelligent animals with short lives. On the other, they have no qualms about playing with mortals and regard sex with one as rather like stroking a cat. If you want to or better can gain temporal power by doing so, by all means. It invites comment but not opprobrium. Treating one as an equal or even a formal lover is rare and there usually has to be self-evident reasons to do so, such as the mortal being a very powerful mage. Naturally inducing mortals to have sex with each other for whatever reason, such as a reward or punishment is something one does to animals. They must rut at their owner’s convenience after all. Mer are similar enough to Daedra for watching them cover one another to be a spectator sport for some without exciting comment.

People in Tamriel don't speak like a 21st century American, Europen or even Japanese. They don't cum, they don't have front-bottoms and they don't crouch and look up skirts. Some terms more in keeping might be along these lines. Note that those marked * are 'tacky'!

Rather than direct you at a post that is now buried, I'll repost something.

 

ASX
1. Introduction
The authors have long felt that while the concept of an animation support framework for Oblivion was excellent, existing offerings had a few problems:-
One: As most of these offerings seem to emanate from Russia or the Pacific Rim, never ending translation was required by a team of stalwarts and it WAS without end.
Two: Such documentation as existed was difficult to translate and of unknown quality. This made writing your own plugins difficult, and as we all know, provoked endless 'how do I make this work' questions.
Three: Many of the plugins were not to the taste of everyone and/or had dependencies that might be unwanted. Not everyone wants their female characters to look like anime schoolgirls for example.
Four: In a similar vein, not everyone wanted characters to sound like demented schoolgirls either.

It was decided the thing to do was write a western animation and sound core, with clear documentation so people could quickly write their own plugins for it. A core of essential keyframes with properly embedded facial expressions with an easy way to reliably play and sequence them on an actor.

One of the goals was to eliminate the use of the the horrible implementation of PickIdle, with the infinite number of tokens and global variables that was regarded as the only way in Oblivion. OBSE20 debuted PlayIdle, a way of invoking an animation by reference and the ability to create plugins that were far less sensitive to load order.

ASX consists of a single master, asxcore.esm. The included esps are not required but are working example plugins built on the esm.

2. Stuff we won't be covering.

When ASX is released, people will be at liberty to produce anything that does not violate their local statutes with it. However, the authors have no interest in:-

* Futanari.
* Characters who look like teen-agers or younger.
* Women uniquely as pathetic victims. As much as possible will function for men as well as women.
* Most current LoversPK plugins.
* Things that smack of modernity. We aim for magic not hi-tech, Silk not rayon.
* Non-sentient animals as protagonists.
* Ultra-extreme body styles.
* 'Real High Heels' and 'Bouncing Butts'.
* Pregnancy. People have always used contraception methods and magical ones are probably better than modern ones. (Certainly, cure wounds is better than a trip to the hospital).
* Lactation.
* Support for ears long enough to trap in doors.

3. FAQ

Q. Is this a LoversPK mod.
A. No, it's an alternative to LoversPK. It will be in English and properly documented. All the functions and instructions to create or adapt a mod to work with it will be in the form of an API.

Q. Will LoversPK plugins work with it.
A. No. For one thing it uses PlayIdle exclusively. Tokens are not used to select animations and it should never interfere with other animation mods, nor hopefully they with it. Nor will it feature 'offensive' and 'defensive' sexual animations. Neither will animations automatically progress from slow->medium->fast->insane hamster. The plan is for high quality poses and animations that can be elegantly controlled. It should however be easy to implement/convert a LoversPK plugin to become an ASX plugin, as what you will need to do will be documented.

Q. So what plugins are planned.
A. Subject to change but in addition to ASXCore itself; ASXChains, ASXTorments, ASXDialog, ASXCompanion, ASXGossip... ideas come to us. We may do an ASXDamarask for example. We had an idea for ASXChainbeasts.

Q. What Quests?
A. Yes, quests.

Q. What body types will be supported.
A. Anyone will be free to implement any body type they wish, but we are thinking of RobertsV5 for men, and TGND, HGEC (B,C,D,H1,H2 and DM) for women. BBB will be catered to where appropriate but not BB nor RHH. Other body styles we will leave to others.

Q. So will this just be animations?
A. No, it will also have support for RPG and Quest elements. Western Sounds will be included for males and females and additional skills provided.

Q. What will be the dependencies?
A. So far, OBSEv20+. AddActorValues. Universal Silent Voice. We may add others, such as Menuque, but want to keep it too a minimum. We'll have some recommendations that will run with it, such as SeeYouSleepDLL.

Q. So what's the actual goal here?
A. Adult scenarios. Sex, not mindless rapine. Kinky stuff, not little boy sniggers. Equal opportunities; interesting scenarios for men as well as woman. Dialog that doesn't make you squirm with embarrassment and that you'd actually want a partner to utter. Men and women; not silly boys spying on knickers and helpless girls squealing at monsters while adoring-fan look-alikes crouch like it makes them invisible.

Q. Will it be huge?
A. We hope not. We are eliminating redundancy wherever possible. For example, in ASXChains, Four poses share the same keyframe. They have different references and four different idleobjects though.

Q. What's an API?
A. Application Programmers Interface. In short, a set of functions that are simple to control that drive the mod in complex ways.

Q. So what are tokens used for in ASX?
A. Not with PickIdle, which you will never see used by ASX. Tokens are used to record permanent and transient states of NPCs, including the PC. For example, if an actor is visibly aroused, a token records this and appropriate body part swaps are enforced when appropriate. (e.g. a male will have a visible erection if they have no lower body covering). As another example, if the character increases their flirt skill beyond the base, a token records the 5% increment.

Q. So what's this about dialog? Voiced?
A. Dialog is intended to be 'lore-friendly'. That means no 21st century slang and some words not in current usage. So we'll have 'swive', an archaic word for sexual intercourse, along with 'fyck' or 'fycken' (only slightly made up, as the history for the word fuck goes back over 500 years and is full of plain disinformation.) and maybe 'pussie' and 'kunte' (old danish). Do a google search, it's fascinating, especially the totally bogus and contradictory origins for fuck as an acronym.

Dialog will not be voiced, hence USV. There will be sounds but they won't be squeaky!

Q. When will it be ready.
A. We honestly don't know, so please don't offer to playtest yet. It's best described as a very early, and non-playable unless you can script, pre-alpha. The authors have other projects and real lives. Work is really on-going however.

Sounds really promising . BTW, will you be recycling existing animations from people like grumpf and northern or will all the animations be completely new, or a mixture of both?

We don't plan on re-inventing the wheel, so we plan on using existing high quality animations that we can get permission to re-distribute, or that are donated, or animations we create ourselves (a lot easier now thanks to Gerra6's stirling work). I've done some interesting morphs for ASXTorments so far..........

2. Stuff we won't be covering.

 

When ASX is released, people will be at liberty to produce anything that does not violate their local statutes with it. However, the authors have no interest in:-

 

* Futanari.

* Characters who look like teen-agers or younger.

* Women uniquely as pathetic victims. As much as possible will function for men as well as women.

* Most current LoversPK plugins.

* Things that smack of modernity. We aim for magic not hi-tech, Silk not rayon.

* Non-sentient animals as protagonists.

* Ultra-extreme body styles.

* 'Real High Heels' and 'Bouncing Butts'.

* Pregnancy. People have always used contraception methods and magical ones are probably better than modern ones. (Certainly, cure wounds is better than a trip to the hospital).

* Lactation.

* Support for ears long enough to trap in doors.

I like you guys already.

 

Question about the highlighted, though.  I noticed you don't specifically strike down the possibility of bestiality, but the way you've worded it makes it sound like "consensual"/friendly sexual encounters with animals won't be possible.  Am I reading that correctly?  And if so, why allow for the possibility of animals raping the PC against their will but disallow willful encounters?

 

My biggest irritation with xLovers (and Sexout, and what little exists for Skyrim) has always been than all the good beast mods were rape-y.  If you guys supported beast rape and willful bestiality both as distinct, optional plugins, you would be my newest heroes and I would never touch xLovers again.

That is rather upsetting.  Finally a mod taking a balanced approach to Oblivion erotica and the single solitary thing I could ever ask for is not present.

 

I'd make it myself but I've never had the patience for modding.

To try to explain further, our goal is to add things that AREN'T in LoversPK. Things the makers of that system seem at present uninterested in. If people want a LoversPK plugin in ASX we hope to provide sufficient good documtation to make converting it not too daunting.

 

As an example of stuff that will be in ASX that isn't in LoversPK, here are some notes on some of the Roleplaying aspects:

 

AddActorValues usage
The maximum value for these attributes is normally 100 but some can reach 200.
Several arbitrary differences exist between men and women. These are present to be interesting and in part do reflect some of the designers kinks and experiences.

Libido
The basic sexual attribute. Events such as the passage of time or seduction attempts by an attractive NPC will increment other attributes by libido.
Mature women have a higher libido than men.

Anguish
An unnatural enhancement to libido. Often imposed by a spell. Recorded by anguish tokens
 

Lust
The characters cumulative, basic desire. Events such as the mere passage of time will increase lust. Incremented with lust tokens, it is normally always at least equal to libido.
For lust to manifest as arousal, it must be activated by another event, such as a seduction attempt.
Lust token are removed by sexual events. Self pleasuring will remove one token. Sexual activity with a partner will remove 2 tokens.
A very satisfying encounter will remove three, and supremely satisfying encounters will remove all lust tokens.
 

Torment
Torment is an unnatural enhancement to lust. Often imposed by a spell. Recorded by torment tokens. Unlike lust, this is always activated.
Arbitrarily, women are more affected by torment.
 

Selfcontrol
A defensive attribute. Women are granted more self control.
 

Frustration
Unnatural frustration is an unnatural impediment to satisfying lust. Often imposed by a spell. Recorded by frustration tokens.
Arbitrarily, men are more affected by frustration.
 

Arousal
Physical arousal. Drives body part swaps such as erections or moist vaginas and generally indicates the NPCs 'need' for sex.
 

Sadism
Normally zero. An NPCs preference for sadism is indicated by granting them sadism tokens, normally up to three.
Arbitrarily, women are more sadistic.
 

Masochism
Normally zero. An NPCs preference for masochism is indicated by granting them masochism tokens, normally up to three.
Arbitrarily, men are more masochistic.

 

Notes

By default, asx will assume all characters are purely heterosexual. However, this will be easily overridden.
There are two tokens, asxTdesirefemales and asxTdesiremales.
The presence of such a token in an actors inventory will over-ride the default assumption. Naturally a bi-sexual character is indicated by granting them both tokens.

 

Every 24 hours, the player or a registered NPC will gain a Lust Token. There will be a percentage chance equal to Libido of another Lust token. There will be a chance equal to Anguish of yet another token. Thus every 24 hours, they gain from 1 to 3 Lust tokens.

I've also added three new skills, Flirt, Seduce and Copulate. (I'm open to better name suggestions. Does anyone still know what flirting is?).

The Flirt skill is equal to Personality plus Speechcraft, with women getting a 50% bonus.

The Seduce skill is equal to Will plus Personality plus the under-used Confidence, (http://cs.elderscrol....php/Confidence) with women getting a 50% bonus. (Women being generally seen as having much higher social skills than the taciturn, grunting male!)
Not sure yet if it's safe to play with the players confidence (zero) or to sub Will for the player. In any event, successful Flirt use will add a Lust token to the target. A successful Seduce roll will Activate arousal. I envisage choice of response to these approaches (especially with the player) of activating Selfcontrol to reduce the chance of success. In any event, just because someone has been aroused, doesn't mean they'll respond. It will take actual spells to suppress free will.

The Copulate skill is the ability to pleasure a partner. It will influence the chance of getting the best results from a sexual encounter and affect an NPCs reactions to the PC.

So if you talk about sadism, does this mean rape might occur randomly throughout the game ?

I'm not talking about bondage and the like , just plain rape. If so, will it be possible to escape rape attempts and how will it come into play? (Like receiving warnings and having a chance to outrun the rapist? Perhaps even a minigame , unlikely I suppose since the main goal of ASX is immersion ?)

I don't quite see the correction between sadism and rape. (I can think of a few sadists I know who would be very offended by such an implication though.) I do point out that in Tamriel (like in say the Celtic myths) rape brings dishonour on the rapist.

 

No random rapes unless someone else wants such a plugin. To re-iterate, we decided to do this BECAUSE the current LoversPK plugins strike us as the very antithesis of eroticism.
