Veta Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I am no reviewer or as good with words as I'd like to be but I thought the two games below didn't deserve all the attention they got and it bothered me that no one said anything , so here goes. Far cry 3 : By no means am I saying that this was a bad game (A little bit) but mother of sweet baby jesus it sold like shit even through both autumn and winter steam sales it didn't lower its price at all(well once but still) and it was at top selling for 50 euros when games like mass effect 2 and jade empire were at 5 . I read quite a lot people calling it Skyrim with guns and I have to agree it was just like Skyrim , mundane quests ,One dimensional Characters ,barely any customization and the map oh god the map every time I had to bring up the map it just awful and last but not least start screen took three seconds to load. Most of these were gameplay problems But the one thing that I truly had a problem with was that ridiculous excuse of a story !SPOILERS! A little rich spoiled "kid" named Jason Brody was on vacation on freaking crazy island and he and his "companions" including his two brothers get adultnaped by some locals ,nothing to special , but then his brother gets killed and he doesn't seem to give a shit ,he just picks up a gun and murders the entire population of the island while magickal tattoos appear on his hand , small time events for bosses which are too easy or hard and bizarre which pulls you off the game. There isnt much else I have to say on this so tell me your opinions on the game. I will also make a review like this:@ for Assassins Creed 3

Plenty of games nowadays are just overhyped, its so easy to move the sheep masses with all the media and flashy vids and make them believe its da best game in the world..while the truth is...its just a shallow graphical parade..there are exceptions, but such games dont get the attention they would deserve. Despite saying all that, i got myself hyped for skyrim...the media are a powerfull tool, but atleast it opened my eyes.

[/quote'] I hear ya. If it weren't for the mods I wouldn't even lay a finger on that glitchy mess of a game. Yep, exactly, without mods this game would be long gone from my hdd. After that i became very catious and take all the flashy trailers with a grain of salt. If you ask me FC3 is poor game. But there is few notable things. - Fire spreading. - Amazing face models/textures of main characters. Texture and face models might be awesome, but they arent making the gameplay any better, its time the developers/people start to realize that.
Veta Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Yeah I admit it's visuals were surprisingly good (and its gameplay didn't suck) but that is not what makes a game. I haven't been around as long as most of you guys but I have played more games than I can count and I consider story to be the most important aspect of a game , it should be the base on which games are build and not an excuse for the good graphics and the same repetitive gameplay.
R733 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I thought that far cry2 was pretty repetetive, dull and over-simplified, but in comparison to FC3, far cry2 it is quite ambitious fpp with serious look on third world conflict. FC3 is just another corporate turd dumbed down so much my brain hurts when I think about it. Or maybe it's because psychodelic, akward inventory menu. Anyway, while the game is crap it has well optimised engine. Or the other way; it shows how poorly optimised are engines from other developers.

HanPL Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Well I finnaly finished FC 3 few days ago on PC. Really good game but can get a bit boring after time if you collect every single chest with loot etc. Before I visited the second Island I already got almost all weapons unlocked/bought, max syrignes,ammo pouch,wallet so there was really no reason for me to explore the new island since I already got everything so only thing left to do was going straight for main quests.

HanPL Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Yep more weapons unloced but before I got there I already had like all unique weapons. So there was really no point of buying new ones lol For 90% of time I was running with silenced sniper rifle + Ripper machine gun.
