Some Skyrim LE UUNP HDT Beginner Questions

hi there!

on my way to find / mod to my personally perfect game i am meanwhile in the characters / npc's section. i read a lot of stuff  within the last couple of days trying to understand the basics of diferrent body mods, outfit studio, dual sheath, hdt etc.

i am more or less experienced in "normal" modding skyrim (environmental), but this time i want to go deeper in things regarding custom body mods, hdt etc.

can be quite confusing to be honest, so i have a couple of questions right now and hope you guys can help a bit. i know that probably my questions were answered already a trillion times here and there, but at some point i was not able to find the answer / solution transferring for my own needs, so please don't be angry if you read the same questions again ?

there are the "big" two body replacers cbbe and unp. so in my "mod-beginnings" years ago i started using cbbe. now i want to do it different (better) and want to use UUNP. so currently i use the "Dangerously THICC UUNP Preset" which i found on nexus. to be able to use it i installed the Outfit Studio with UUNP options. beside that i also installed all that necessary stuff like high heels system, hdt, skeleton extended, animation mods etc.

My goal is to download and activate some of that amazing UUNP HDT Outfits which i can use with my character in Skyrim.

1.) First question: If I generally want to use UUNP it is sufficient to install the Outfit Studio with UUNP options, i don't need to install the "normal" UNP Body Replacer extra correct?

2.) After installing the Outfit Studio with UUNP Options in that program i chose that "Dangerously THICC"-Preset from the UUNP HDT Presets and clicked in the lower left side of the button "Batch Build". Does that mean that only my character will get that preset or also all NPC's / followers?

3.) What is that second big "Build" button down in the middle for? Do i need to click that one also after the batch build button?

4.) So when i start Skyrim and open Race Menu i see my THICC Body Preset is active, everything seems to be working as it should. now i downloaded that "Scarlet Dawn Armor" from Nexus. There is no UUNP variant in the download section, so just for testing i installed the UNPB-BBP-version instead. Than i transferred that armor via the additem-mod into my inventory.

when i dress on the armor now it works, also breast and butt physics. the textures do not look strange, everything looks good. can that be? because i do not use a dedicated UUNP armor?

5.) when i download an UUNP-Armor and craft that ingame or use the additem-mod - will it fit always on my currently used UUNP-Body-Preset out of the box? What i mean - if i change the sliders in race menu to make the breasts smaller for example - in game i can see that the scarlet dawn armor fits also to these smaller breasts now. i did not convert anything again in outfit studio. is that correct? so when editing the body proportions ingame the uunp (hdt) costumes will automatically be adapted to that changed body aspects?

6.) if you could help me with one example of an downloaded UUNP costume it would be extremely helpful. hopefully i can transfer that knowledge to similar costumes than. so i want to use this armor:

https://eskrimmods.blogspot.com/2017/08/dint-bdo-valkyrie-v10-cbbecbs.html

there is an UUNP-option which is what we want. When clicking the UUNP-Download one can download two files:

BDO Valkyrie v1.21 CBBE Bodyslide by Dint999

UUNP Bodyslide v1.2 by HHermes

so we only need that UUNP file correct? after downloading, can i import that costume simply via nexus mod manager like the scarlet dawn armor? what confuses me: i can see inside the archive is an "espsp"-file!?

what is that? i only saw esp-files so far. so how can activate that costume?

and will that costume will out of the box fit to my custom uunp-thicc-preset? or do i need to modify / convert / adapt that armor before i can use it with my body?

thank you so much for your help!!

that's it for the moment.

All actors that relay on your base body will be modifyed by your preset.

Except standalone followers or mods that add actors with own presets or body variations.

If you create your own preset or modifications you use that build button.

If you batch build from a preset you don't need to press that button.

Don't click it if you have batch build something ^^

The Scarlet Dawn Armor replaces your UUNP body as long as you are wearing it.

In this case it even comes with its own settings for BBP.

Try another armor that isn't UUNP or has a BBP version and you see that there will be no jiggle.

UUNP is compatible with UNP variants.

Still, you will see hand feet mismatch with certain UNP armors that doesn't cover your hands and feet.

As far as I understand it:

UUNP armors are fitted to your body => you will see the effect of your preset on the armor

Other UNP variant armors => replace your body while your wearing them, thus they will lokk differently to your original UUNP body.

All UUNP outfits and accessories need to be build in bodyslide first.

Means you will have to bash build them to your body preset.

If you don't do that and equip them ingame you get a invisible body, because the UUNP mesh are missing.

If you change UUNP sliders in Racemenu it will take effect eminently.

As far as I understand it, those changes will be only saved in your save game and will be lost on a new game unless you save your Racemenu settings as Racemenu preset.

Yes, your UUNP armors will adapt to your Racemenu changes.

(so be careful with that butt slider)

In your Valkyrie case:

> BDO Valkyrie was made for CBBE

> HHermes made a UUNP Bodyslide conversion

As far as I can see you are lucky and the "[Dint] BDO_Valkyrie_ v1.2 - UUNP바슬" file seems to include the original files and UUNP conversion.

You could just add the UUNP version by HHermes to NMM and, after installing, batch build the outfit in Bodyslide.

If you have a conversion that doesn't includes all files:

You will need the original files and the UUNP bodyslide files.

Often the UUNP conversions only include the bodyslide files, sometimes meshes or an alternative esp.

All other files like textures, esp, meshes, armor parts/accessories will be in the original mod files.

if that's the case:

> check if the mod folders are NMM ready

> install the original mod

> install the UUNP conversion and click "yes to overwrite"

> build the armor in Bodyslide

alternative:

> unzip both modfolders

> copy paste all files from the conversion into the original mod folder (overwrite all)

> best rename the modified mod folder and zip it up again

> add the now modified and renamed zip to NMM and install and batch build in bodyslide

All UUNP armors you build via your preset in bodyslide will fit to your UUNP body

I don't see that in the zip folders, but an "*.espsp" file sounds broken or was renamed to not be installed until renamed.

Maybe optional file?

Mr. Pickles thank you so much for clarifications. I will test everything tonight. So coming back to my unpb scarlet armor-example i did not batch-build it in outfit studio. so if i understand you right when i start skyrim both ingame and when open race menu i see my character with my active 'dangerously thicc-preset'-proportions.. when dressing on that unpb-scarlet armor in that moment my thicc-preset becomes deactivated and the different inbuilt-body of that armor will be used. which means when i than slide the breast smaller in race menu and see the result live on the fly ingame not my thicc-preset-breasts got smaller but the breasts of the attached different body inside of the scarlet armor correct?

Never thought about this, but what would happen if I would use a special bodyslide preset only for certain armors,

while building the base body and other armors with my regular preset.

?

Mr Pickles ?

Do you mean similar to what I do? You know my screenshots so:

My PC and my followers currently use the PAN_Zusha2 preset and the Luxurious Seduction armour is built to that. All the other female NPCs in the game use Sticc to Thicc and all the other armours are built to that.

That is why some of the NPCs from Hot Chicks are on the heavy side - they are getting their body from Sticc to Thicc.

@pellewolf Just to be clear:

You build your Dangerously THICC preset to the UUNP Special body, Special Hands and Special feet*. (Just Build not Batch Build. Batch = bunch = more than one).

You then build your armour and clothing to the Dangerously THICC preset. (Select the group(s) in 'Group Filter' and Batch Build. Tick the 'Build Morphs' box.

*Or whichever body you choose. Make sure you do hands and feet as well.

Skin texture, you obviously grab the UUNP version.

Your #1 above, No you don't need to get a UUNP body if you choose to install the one from Bodyslide. (It's generally referred to as Bodyslide or BS not Outfit Studio).

There is a saying in Skyrim that 'you are what you wear'. This means that your body shape will be whatever the armour shape is. So, for example if your naked character has normal sized breasts and you equip armour that was built to a body with huge breasts then you will look as if you have huge breasts. If you remove the armour the naked body will be normal.

Even if you wanted to you can't batch-build anything on that UNPB armor. This only works with UUNP armors.

Yes, as soon as you wear the the UNPB armor your UUNP body will be replaced with the UNPB armor, everything gets replaced that the armor covers (body, hands, feet).

If you wear the UNPB armor the RaceMenu slider will have no effect, because the slider only affect your UUNP body or UUNP armors.

Only influence you have on that UNPB armor is via the RaceMenu weight slider, if the armor supports weight.

Just make some tests:

> wear the UNPB armor in racemenu and watch how the sliders effect the armor

> wear an UUNP armor and observe the effects on the armor

Fascinating to see the effect of a "Mr" before the Pickles =D

Just thought I could use some push up and squeeze presets for certain "armors" while keeping my original preset if naked.

If I understand you correct, then this it totally possible?! ?

You perhaps could do it in the sense of 'you are what you wear'. That is, build the armour to a suitable 'push up and squeeze' preset in BS. Then in game the NPC will look 'push up and squeeze' but will still have your regular preset naked.

I read somewhere " UUNP - UNPB Oppai v3.2 0 weight " would be great for a thight squeeze ?

You could try it with one of the outfits from HSO. Grab one with AIM and try it on to see whether it adapts to your body or makes your body look like the HSO body.

What outfit is that in the screenshot?
