(I KNOW its not Better Vampires or VampireLordRoyal, or Vampire Overlord because i've used them for ages. Please. Help, I'm close to just giving up on skyrim completely!. I've been shutting off mods left and right and its still Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash.

BSnake Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Are you crashing before the game manages to load at all or when you load a save or start a new game? If it's the former, you might be missing a master that one of your mods depends on. To check this, I recommend installing Wryebash. Under the Mods tab, most of the checkboxes for your mods should be green. If a checkbox is red, it means the mod is missing a master file. Click the mod, check the lower-right window, and you should be able to see any missing masters. Besides that, did you update the game recently? If so, make sure that SKSE is brought up-to-date as well, including any mods that rely on it. I am Fine in interior cells' date=' but I attempt to enter the exterior cell? Crash crash like the world is going to end. [/quote'] Oh, have you tried using the coc command to enter different cells? Do all exterior cells result in a crash or just one specifically? Have you installed high-res texture packs that affect exterior cells? If so, have you monitored your VRAM usage?
srayesmanll Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 More info on the crashes themselves might be helpful. For example, if you CTD starting the game you may have a missing esm/master for a particular mod, if you just generally crash while wandering it could be you system/video can't handle the load, etc. You might also turn on papyrus logging (not sure how to do that myself, do a search here to find what turn on in the ini for the logging). Your papyrus log should give you more clues as to what the issue is. [EDIT]BSnake makes a good point about SKSE as well [/EDIT]

polluxval Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 delete your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini (backup them before), run skyrimlauncher once and close it. also, try this mods: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801 optimize your textures, the program does a backup in case something goes wrong. most of the time its a vram related issue and not mod related. also try this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27959 enhances game and uses all the resources you need, minimizing ctds. as an extra, try reducing resolution and reducing or disabling AntiAliasing . additionally, i advice making a new game IF POSSIBLE.

[/quote'] mmm... weird, for me works everytime. try choosing the medium profile and watch a movie while its working (you mod list is huge, it will take some time) if your game implodes again, rmember that the backup textures are holded on C:/textures backup

shane4244 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 The best way to identify the culprit Unless someone can spot the offender right of the bat(I can not),is to start disabling mods a few at a time(groups of 5 or so)until it stops crashing when it does re-enable them until it crashes again then you find the conflicting mod, or you can go the other way start clean and add a few at a time until it crashes. what ever you think is easiest.
polluxval Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 yeah i had a lot of ctds around helgen too and the cause was a lot of resource usage, i had ugridtoload=7 and reducing it to 5 fixed my problem. as i think you dont have your skyrim.ini tempered the only idea left i have is this: did you tried skyedit with your dawnguard.esm and earthfires.esm? before anyone else say something (that its a bad idea, etc.) its not. i did a clean and most ctds are now gone. check here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859 and the guide to clean it up here: http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit in any case, dont forget to make backup copies (eventhough skyedit do it autmotically)
