MadMansGun Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 i can't open multiple instances of nifskope in win10, i can double click on one nif file and it will open fine but if i try to click on another nothing will happen. i can use ctrl+n to open a new window but i then have to use file/open to find & load the second nif file, it's painfully slow and extremely counter productive.
Blaze69 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 AFAIK it's a known issue and has been like that for a while (IIRC even older versions did it, I've had that issue since the very moment I started using W10). Doesn't look like it's going to be fixed anytime soon if ever, unfortunately.
27X Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Don't install in program files. Give admin rights. Make sure write and read access are also admin. All of this assumes your copy of win10 is legit and Pro/Work. If you install this in any folder windows considers an "app" folder, you won't be able to run multiple instances.
MadMansGun Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 one version is on the desktop, and another in C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim\NifSkope both have the same problem. and i already tried admin rights & turning off UAC, it did not work.
Guest Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 w10 + nifskope are working fine, do not need to run in admin or deactivate uac or whatever. what you have is just file association issue. just rename your second nifskope.exe and right click on a nif, open with renamed.exe. done
